Staff R&D Engineer (Linux Kernel)

As a Staff Engineer for our fast-growing team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our Virtual ECU simulation technologies used by automotive manufacturers and suppliers for testing the functionality of vehicle systems in a controlled and safe environment before deploying them in real vehicles. You will play a pivotal role in a cross-functional team dedicated to the implementation of new virtualization solutions. 

This is a hybrid role with at least 3 days on-site in Aachen per week.

In your new role you will:

•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new product designs and validate their performance

•    Drive the development and deployment of virtualization solutions

•    Conduct code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality code

•    Implement new Virtual ECU simulation technologies


 What You’ll Need:

•    MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or similar

•    Proven experience as a Linux Kernel or System-Level R&D Engineer, or similar role

•    C/C++ software development - extensive knowledge and hands-on experience

•    Solid understanding of software architecture and full product development cycle

•    Knowledge in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms

•    Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

•    Good written and verbal communication skills


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies
  • Experience with automotive simulation, especially software-in-the-loop
