You Are:
You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a passion for ensuring safety in high-tech environments. With a solid background in both hardware and software functions, you excel at developing clear and verifiable safety requirements. You have a strong understanding of software and semiconductor development flows and are formally trained in ISO 26262. Your experience includes managing safety-critical applications and qualifying embedded software up to ISO 26262 ASIL D. You are familiar with tools like JAMA or DOORS and have an advantage if you know AEC Q100 and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards. Your ability to coordinate internal teams and customers ensures compliance with the highest safety, quality, and reliability standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Developing safety requirements, validation plans, and functional safety concepts (Safety Goals, Item Definitions).
- Reviewing, approving, and guiding architecture proposals and design verification plans.
- Managing Work Products from the Software Project Safety Plan across all product lifecycle levels (Concept, Architectural, and Software).
- Coordinating internal teams, automotive customers, and product teams to ensure compliance with functional safety, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Working closely with Functional Safety teams on project planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Participating in quality and safety reviews, providing detailed reports.
- Maintaining and improving functional safety methods and templates.

What You’ll Need:
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for writing clear and verifiable requirements.
- Solid background in hardware and software functions.
- BSEE (3+ years experience) or MSEE (2+ years experience).
- Understanding of software and semiconductor development flow.
- Formal training in ISO 26262 with experience in key work products (Technical Safety Concept, Safety Plan, FMEA, FMEDA, Safety Manual, Safety Case, etc.).
- Experience as a Functional Safety Manager in safety-critical applications, qualifying embedded software up to ISO 26262 ASIL D.
- Familiarity with JAMA, DOORS, or similar tools.
- Advantageous: Knowledge of AEC Q100 (automotive reliability) and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (quality standards).
