Senior Applications Engineer, Foundation IP

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced Applications Engineering team that is responsible for supporting our customers in the Synopsys Intellectual Property (IP) domain.

This position requires a highly motivated and experienced person to work with Synopsys’ worldwide customer base on integrating our leading edge Foundation IP product line into their SoC designs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the IP applications for customer specific SoC
  • Keep abreast of the latest ASIC/SoC design flows and EDA tools
  • Provide expert advice and support to configure and resolve IP integration challenges including simulation, synthesis, floorplan, STA, DFT and silicon bring-up
  • Provide integration training to customers and conduct reviews on their major SoC milestones
  • Provide feedback to Synopsys R&D for continuous product improvements
  • Participate in R&D design reviews to align development with future customer needs

Required Skills

  • BEng/BSc and/or MSc, and 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Good understanding of the latest SoC architectures and system-level design practices for one or more market segments (HPC, mobile, storage, automotive, networking, IoT), from IP requirements perspective
  • Hands-on experience of RTL coding in Verilog, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, equivalence checking
  • Domain knowledge of embedded memories, logic libraries and IO libraries
  • Experienced with SoC design flows
  • Silicon debug and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in common scripting languages
  • Good deductive and technical problem-solving skills in tandem with solid written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and personal responsibility
  • Customer sensitivity, the ability to multitask and set priorities, helpful and caring attitude towards customers, and the desire to help customers in exploring new technologies are essential for success in the position

Nice to Have Skills

  • Domain knowledge of memory test and repair and DFT
  • Prior AE experience


The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $126,000-$190,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
