The Synopsys Mask Solutions Group is looking for motivated software engineers for the CATS team. This position will give you the opportunity to develop software used by major semiconductor companies in the world. CATS is a market-leading, highly scalable and flexible software application. It transcribes complex design data into machine readable instructions for e-beam and laser machines, used for the pattern generation and manufacturing of semiconductor products. The R&D team works on a variety of problems, including high-performance 2D computational geometry, distributed computing, and efficient I/O. In this role, you will join an experienced software development team and contribute to exciting new technologies in computational lithography, enabling leading semiconductor companies that shape our lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design efficient data structures and algorithms, study software issues and deliver robust software.
  • Maintain and improve existing functionality, focused on quality, reliability, and performance
  • Design, architect, and create functional specifications for new software components and modules.
  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team, both within Chile and distributed world-wide.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Good programming skills and some experience with C/C++
  • Background in data structures and algorithms
  • Familiarity in developing software on Linux
  • Desire to learn and explore new technologies, demonstrate good exploration and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written skills for communication and documentation
