Principal Engineer, Static Timing Analysis


The STA lead is responsible for overseeing all the tasks related to timing constraints and timing closure in the SOC. The STA lead works with the customer, responsible for timing constraints development or co-development with the customer, constraints management, timing analysis and timing closure in primetime (STA). You will play a key role in understanding the design goals to meet performance/timing requirements, understand the clocking architecture and their relationship and be the lead technical engineer for all timing related discussions while setting the path for the team.

Required Skills:
  • Expert knowledge with defining timing constraints
  • Synopsys SDC, Primetime and STARRC
  • Advanced level knowledge of Static Timing Analysis
  • Scripting with TCL, PERL or Python
  • Understanding of Signoff requirements.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and customer support in a global cultural work environment.
  • Timing closure or CPU’s GPU’s, full chip or large subsystems.
  • Ability to provide technical presentations and write clear documentation.
  • Maintain Timing Dashboard using Synopsys tools
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years experience analyzing timing in PrimeTime and writing timing ecosystems
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 8 years experience with Static Timing Analysis.
  • Experience in a customer facing technical role.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $183,000-$275,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
