We’re looking for a Staff Application Engineer to join our team and who will play a critical role in our Customer Success Organization enabling the success of our customers in designing advanced chips.

You will provide technical and engineering insight and direction to improving usability, applicability, and adoption of implementation products, platforms, and solutions to meet the customer business needs.

Responsibilities

  • As an eMMC/SD PHYs' applications engineer, will be need to work with Synopsys customers worldwide, on standard eMMC/SD PHYs Interface from Synopsys.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of eMMC/SD PHY standards, specifications, and protocols 
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on customer designs and use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise and support for our top customers.
  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions
  • Conduct hands-on debugging and testing to replicate and diagnose reported issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including application notes of the eMMC/SD PHY.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions to customer inquiries, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to address escalated issues and deliver comprehensive resolutions and work directly with them by developing and implementing our technical roadmap, specifications, and validation for improvements and enhancements.
  • Partner with customers and Sales to identify business challenges, develop effective technical solutions, and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts. 

Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience and BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or similar with focus on VLSI design
  • Hands-on experience with Synthesis, P&R, and timing analysis.
  • Knowledge of floor-planning, SI/PI, backend engineering.
  • Understanding ESD and Latch-up requirements and device reliability rules.
  • Experience with timing and physical constraint methodologies.
  • Good understanding of the RTL2GDS flows and methodologies is preferred.
  • Prior experience in any high speed protocol is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in transistor level Analog and Mixed Signal circuit design and layout
  • Design and development experience of op-amps, differential amplifiers, level-shifters, and high speed IO interfaces
  • Understanding of CMOS process technology and working knowledge of Synopsys design tools, simulators (Hspice, Finesim, Waveview, ICV, Custom Compiler, Custom_Sim)
  • Knowledge in TCL or Perl scripting language is a plus
  • Positive personality with good communication skills and team player, as well as ability, and adoption of implementation products, platforms, and solutions to meet the customer business needs.
