Our Silicon Design & Verification business is all about building high-performance silicon chips—faster. We’re the world’s leading provider of solutions for designing and verifying advanced silicon chips. And we design the next-generation processes and models needed to manufacture those chips. We enable our customers to optimize chips for power, cost, and performance—eliminating months off their project schedules.
We’re looking for an Applications Engineer for our ASIC Digital Design/Implementation customers.

This role involves working very closely with our Austin based customer(s) in the area of ASIC Digital Design/Implementation flow solutions within our World Class EDA business. You will be responsible for partnering with our customers to showcase our best-in-class synthesis and physical design solutions.
Key Qualifications:
- BS/MSEE with at least 5+ years of industry experience with synthesis and physical design.
- Must have hands on SoC/block level execution experiences.
- Have proficiency in Tcl & Python programming.
- Former experience with at least 16nm although newer process node experience N5/N7 preferred.
- VLSI understanding.
- Former experiences debugging ASIC flow design and creating solutions.
- Must be an excellent communicator and enjoy educating customers on why they should partner with us at Synopsys with our technology to create their innovative solutions.
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $134,000-$200,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
