You Are:
An experienced SoC Architect with a passion for designing next-generation systems that power the smart devices of tomorrow. You possess a deep understanding of various protocols and high-performance compute architectures. Your ability to mentor and guide junior engineers is complemented by your hands-on experience in performance and power optimization. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the design and definition of SoC architecture, ensuring alignment with product goals and customer requirements for performance, power efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborating closely with RTL designers, verification teams, physical design teams, and customers to ensure architectural features are properly implemented and optimized.
- Driving architectural trade-offs to optimize for power, performance, and area, balancing system-level and application-level requirements.
- Performing design space exploration, simulation, and modeling to evaluate architectural alternatives and identify the best options for performance and power efficiency.
- Ensuring that the architecture integrates seamlessly with external interfaces, subsystems, and third-party IPs, enabling a cohesive and efficient design.
- Creating detailed SoC architecture specifications, interface definitions, and block diagrams that clearly convey the design intent and functional requirements.
- Staying current with the latest advancements in SoC design, including emerging technologies and methodologies, and applying them to improve the performance and capabilities of new designs.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to design teams, guiding junior engineers in SoC architectural principles and best practices.
- Leading architectural development for complex SoC projects, ensuring successful delivery from concept to production, and solving complex architectural challenges along the way.

- Ensuring seamless integration of SoC architectures with external interfaces and subsystems, enhancing overall system efficiency.
- Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
- Contributing to the continuous advancement of SoC design methodologies and technologies, keeping Synopsys at the forefront of the industry.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in SoC Architecture or Micro-Architecture, writing design specifications, doing PPA analysis, and optimization.
- Good knowledge of various protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, UCIe, etc.) and/or processor/interconnect/debug/bus architecture.
- Technical expertise in SoC level Clocking, Reset, and (Low) Power architectures.
- Experience in hardware/architecture design of high-performance compute, including a good understanding of SoC system requirements, SoC interconnects, and memory architectures.
- Knowledge of performance prediction or modeling in an ARM-centric environment would be a plus.
- Familiarity with hardware/software co-design, trade-offs, and system-level optimization.
- Background in EDA tools and design flows is a plus.
- Excellent presentational skills, with the ability to work across geographies and cultures.

At Synopsys, you’ll be part of the System Solutions Group (SSG), a team of experts in various Synopsys technologies. We deliver architecture, design, verification, and implementation tools and methodologies to enable our customers to complete their most challenging SoC design projects. Our work spans from sub-blocks to full turnkey end-to-end SoCs, and our customers range from start-ups to industry leaders, commercial companies, and government agencies.

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter can share more specific details on the total rewards package upon request. The base salary range for this role is across the U.S.
