What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and providing solutions for build-time issues related to code, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Porting software across a range of operating systems and hardware architectures, ensuring compatibility and optimized performance.
  • Technically leading a group of junior engineers, guiding them through build and porting tasks, and fostering their professional growth.
  • Analyzing moderately complex problems, identifying effective solutions based on established patterns and best practices.
  • Independently resolving build and runtime performance issues using standard engineering approaches and tools.
  • Collaborating closely with managers and cross-functional engineering teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
  • Setting clear task-level goals, consistently meeting deadlines, and communicating progress effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Following established engineering processes and proactively suggesting improvements to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux commands and a deep understanding of operating system internals.
  • Advanced knowledge of C and C++, with hands-on experience in STL and advanced programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and at least one of Python or Perl for automation and tooling.
  • Solid understanding of configuration management, build systems, and debugging tools.
  • Ability to write portable, maintainable code across diverse operating systems and architectures.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in software engineering or a related field.
