We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent a decade or more living in DevOps with good technical leadership in building and delivering the platforms that thousands of engineers depend on every day. You have deep hands‑on expertise combined with strong architectural thinking, cross‑team collaboration, and ownership of critical DevOps systems used across multiple engineering teams. You’ve tamed sprawling monorepos, automated what others said couldn’t be automated, and you actually enjoy wrangling Perforce, Git, and Jenkins at scale. You like mentoring, not as a checkbox, but because you want to raise the technical bar around you. At Synopsys, you’ll find a place where your decisions ripple across thousands of engineers and every improvement you make actually matters.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architect and drive the design of highly scalable, reliable, and secure DevOps platforms for large, distributed engineering teams.
- Define, implement, and enforce best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, release automation, observability, and reliability using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Lead design and architecture reviews, influencing platform direction across multiple engineering groups.
- Build, optimize, and operate distributed build and regression systems that support high compute volumes and massive codebases.
- Improve developer workflows by automating source control and branching strategies in Perforce, Git and reducing integration friction.
- Ensure availability, stability, and scalability of DevOps platforms by establishing robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
- Drive standardization and optimization across on‑prem, hybrid, and/or cloud environments.
- Mentor and coach DevOps engineers, lead by example through high‑quality designs, reviews, documentation, and coding practices.
The Impact You Will Have
- Slash build and regression turnaround times, enabling faster product delivery and feedback cycles for thousands of engineers.
- Standardize and automate infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, making scale and reliability predictable.
- Remove manual toil from developer workflows, freeing engineering time for real innovation.
- Set the technical direction for DevOps at Synopsys, influencing how global teams build, test, and ship software.
- Uplevel the team’s technical depth by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and leading by example in design and execution.
- Deliver measurable improvements in platform health, developer productivity, and overall engineering velocity.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on industry experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
- Deep expertise with CI/CD systems (Jenkins or equivalent), source control (Perforce, Git, GitHub), and distributed build systems.
- Strong Linux/Unix skills, including troubleshooting at scale in high-compute environments.
- Proven ability to design and operate DevOps platforms for large monorepos or multi-product R&D orgs.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (Python, Shell, Groovy, Go, Ansible, Terraform).
- Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and/or large-scale on-prem infrastructure.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of security best practices in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AI-assisted developer productivity tools (like GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
- Prior work in EDA, semiconductor, or high-compute R&D environments is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You’ll be part of the Synopsys Central Engineer team supporting the DevOps requirements for Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) Business Unit. This group is responsible for the CI/CD, build, and infrastructure platforms that power HAV’s EDA product development across multiple global sites. You’ll collaborate closely with R&D engineers, QA, IT, and release teams for developer productivity and platform reliability.
