You Are

You have spent years in the verification trenches, chasing down race conditions and learning that the hardest bugs are never where you first look. You know the difference between a testbench that works and one that scales across a full-chip regression with 10,000 tests. When a customer calls with a simulation mismatch that has stumped their team for a week, you do not panic. You ask three questions, pull waveforms, and usually find it in the interaction between assertion timing and clock domain crossing logic that nobody thought to check.

Walking into a room with architects who have been designing SoCs for decades does not intimidate you. You earn their trust by understanding their problem faster than they expected and proposing a solution that actually fits their flow. You read RTL, you read logs, you read between the lines when a customer says "the tool is slow" and figure out they are re-elaborating on every run because of a Makefile issue.

At Synopsys, you will work with semiconductor teams building the chips that power AI, automotive, mobile, and networking systems.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead technical engagements with strategic customers deploying simulation and verification solutions for complex SoCs, acting as the primary technical interface for methodology, performance, debug, and signoff
• Drive resolution of challenging issues involving RTL and gate-level simulation, testbench integration, assertion failures, coverage gaps, X-propagation, timing annotation, and non-determinism
• Optimize simulation performance and regression throughput by analyzing compilation flows, elaboration bottlenecks, testbench architecture, and execution efficiency across block, subsystem, and full-chip environments
• Support analog mixed-signal verification where required, including digital-analog co-simulation, behavioral modeling, Verilog-AMS integration, and convergence trade-offs
• Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and influence the roadmap based on real customer deployment patterns
• Develop and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and workshops that translate complex simulation concepts into actionable guidance for customers and internal teams
• Create application notes, reference flows, deployment guides, and debug playbooks that help customers adopt and scale verification solutions

• Scale verification methodologies across customer organizations by building reusable flows and establishing best practices that improve productivity long after your engagement ends
• Accelerate adoption of advanced verification techniques including UVM, assertion-based verification, coverage-driven flows, and mixed-signal co-simulation in customer environments
• Mentor applications engineers and customer verification teams, raising technical capability across the ecosystem and building long-term relationships rooted in trust
• Drive customer success metrics that directly affect Synopsys revenue, renewal rates, and competitive positioning in the EDA simulation market

What You'll Need

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• 5+ years in Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, Functional Verification, ASIC/SoC Verification, or Simulation Technologies with a track record of solving complex verification challenges
• Deep expertise in RTL and gate-level simulation, SystemVerilog, UVM, SVA assertions, coverage-driven verification, simulation compilation and elaboration, debug workflows, and regression automation
• Strong understanding of event-driven simulation semantics, X-propagation, timing simulation and SDF annotation, race conditions, non-determinism, and simulation mismatches
• Proven ability to debug complex SoC verification environments and identify root causes across design RTL, testbench code, assertions, models, tool configuration, and infrastructure
• Experience with analog mixed-signal verification is a strong plus, including digital-analog co-simulation, behavioral modeling, Verilog-AMS, AMS testbench integration, and accuracy versus performance trade-offs
• Strong customer engagement skills including the ability to present technical content clearly, lead escalations, and translate customer pain into actionable product feedback

Who You Are

• You can walk into a customer war room where a critical tapeout is blocked by a simulation failure and propose a path forward that the team believes in, even when the root cause is not yet clear
• You read SystemVerilog and UVM code fluently enough to spot a testbench bug during a screenshare, and you explain what you found without making the engineer feel defensive
• You are comfortable saying "I do not know yet, but here is how I will find out" when a customer asks a question you have not seen before, and you follow through
• You can explain a complex simulation performance trade-off or an assertion timing subtlety to a customer architect in two sentences without losing the nuance
• You do not wait for R&D to fix every issue. When you can script a workaround or build a reference flow that unblocks a customer today, you do it
• You keep track of five customer engagements at once and do not let things fall through the cracks
