You Are: 

  • The ideal candidate will drive Synopsys ICV overall Product Strategies for established process nodes and advanced process nodes to support advanced market needs. In this role you will work with Technical Sales to assist customers develop their own unique rules as part of a Synopsys ICV solutions benchmark. This is especially critical as the market is moving into the rapidly evolving combination of established process node, and advanced process nodes due to the rapidly expanding 3D and Chiplet market.
  • You will be part of the core Product Management team that lays out the additional requirements 3D designs create for checking alignment with design rules, reliability rules, etc when mixing established and advanced node ecosystems, including Foundries, Fabless Companies, and IP companies. 
  • You will interact with Technical Sales and customers to gain a complete understanding of what needs to be incorporated into product roadmaps to support mutual customers, as well as any custom requirements or rules that apply only to a specific customer use case.
  • You should be able to influence, along with support from the other established node PM, and ICV senior management, to modify the general market product roadmap for established node needs in concert the overall customer feedback. 
  • You can educate and train Synopsys Technical Sales on the latest customization techniques and differentiated value they should demand. You can influence at high levels, to work with the PMG Executive Directors to help expand the Synopsys relationships with key established and advanced process node industry leaders (customer and ecosystem) to continuously move Synopsys ICV initiatives forward. 
  • You are highly motivated, with a passion for innovation and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, product management and sales teams to ensure alignment to initiatives. You are comfortable working as an individual contributor on multiple special projects while at the same time influence managing Technical Sales, R&D, and Product Management.


What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Support the creation and execution of the strategies for Synopsys ICV established process node designs that aligns advanced process nodes on the same 3D system and with overall Synopsys ICV broader business objectives.
  • Work with both the ED for Established Nodes and the ED for Synopsys ICV PMG  to develop the requirements and technical collateral needed by the established nodes to design more complex designs faster using Synopsys ICV DRC offerings. You will also work with the rest of the 3D established node product managers to train and educate Synopsys Technical sales
  • You will be one of the ICV visionaries of this new organization within Synopsys EDA Product Management to ensure our roadmaps cover the majority of the market needs.
  • You will work closely with the rest of Synopsys ICV product management, R&D and sales teams to align ICV established node/3D needs with Synopsys product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • You will be an advisor/coach to R&D when requested to assist in negotiating the intent of the LVS elements of the Design Rule Manual such that they can be efficiently coded into the ICV design kit.

  • Accelerate Synopsys’ ICV strategic positioning in the 3D and Chiplet established node market via identification and development of competitive differentiation.
  • Strengthening Synopsys’ influence and thought leadership within the semiconductor ecosystem and customer base through compelling presentations and engagement as how Synopsys ICV is the solutions for the new 3D/Chiplet market.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships within Synopsys EDA to facilitate collaboration and proactive management of established and established node custom solutions.
  • Assist Sales to navigate complex partnership discussions and agreements required to support ICV across the entire established node ecosystem, balancing Synopsys’ needs with mutually beneficial outcomes for the market.


What You’ll Need: 

  • 20+ years of relevant EDA/semiconductor product management and marketing experience. 
  • BS/MS, in Electrical Engineering and or Device Physics required.  PhD or MBA in your field desired.
  • Deep understanding of Semiconductor ecosystem, and expertise with Foundry, EDA PDK development and associated relationships for DRC functions and Rules.
  • Proven ability to work with customer senior management to help define what is a customer specific need vs a general market requirement where they could be an industry leading teacher-customer.
  • Be a known commodity within the semiconductor ecosystem with key companies’ relationships within the established and advanced process nodes.
  • Ability to influence manage within Product Management Group and all other organizations within Synopsys EDA.
  • Exceptional ability to drive and achieve results by yourself and others under time pressure.
  • Excellent presentation, communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time.


The Team You’ll Be A Part Of: 

You will be working with senior management to create a dynamic team focused on greatly expanding Synopsys’ ICV product offerings and market positioning in the established node/3D design environment. This team will work closely with Line of Business (LoB) product management, sales, and R&D to align ecosystem offerings with Synopsys’ ICV overall strategic goals. As a key component of the overall Synopsys EDA Product Management Group, this team will identify and cultivate new opportunities, drive collaborative initiatives, and promote joint marketing programs to deliver solutions to the semiconductor market that mutual established node customers need as the world moves into multiple ways to design their offerings. It is no longer just “let’s go to the next process node” but a “how do we best design this” world. In the cases where the answer is “how do we best design this using our own unique design rules”, this position will help customers come to the correct conclusion.
