SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior R&D Engineer to work in Canonsburg, PA, and various unanticipated locations. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the US
RESPONSIBILITIES
Improve and enhance our Non-Linear solution procedure, Non-linear transient dynamics, and contact mechanics algorithms. Perform R&D in GPU acceleration for nonlinear finite element analysis procedure including contact modeling. Work on the performance improvement and memory reduction under HPC environments. Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain software components and systems. Comfortable contributing to (and learning where necessary) anywhere within the full software stack (API design, database implementation, parallel programming, etc.). Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support. Investigate problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions. Work under the general supervision of a development manager. Participate in planning, architecture, and research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•PhD or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, one (1) year of experience in a related position.
•Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position; or a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in a related position.
•Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
•Experience with contact mechanics, transient dynamics, and finite element coding experience
•Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
•Knowledge and commercial experience with object-oriented design, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms
•Experience with Python and C/C++, and Fortran
