Technical Support Engineer - High Frequency Electromagnetics
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You are the kind of engineer who gets genuine satisfaction from solving someone else's problem, not just closing a ticket. You have spent time working with high-frequency electromagnetics, whether that was in a university lab running HFSS simulations for antenna design, in an R&D role optimizing RF components, or troubleshooting signal integrity issues on high-speed PCBs. You understand what happens when a waveguide model refuses to converge, or when S-parameters do not match measured data, and you know how to work through it methodically.
You communicate clearly. You can take a dense technical issue and explain it in a way that makes sense to someone who has been staring at the same problem for three days. You are organized, you track your cases, follow up when you say you will, and do not let things fall through the cracks. Working with customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa does not intimidate you, it energizes you. You want to be part of a team where your growth matters, where learning new tools is part of the job, and where the work you do directly impacts how engineers around the world bring their ideas to life.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide technical support to customers and channel partners across EMEA using the Ansys Electronics and Electromagnetics product suite, resolving simulation issues, workflow questions, and software behavior inquiries
- Use Ansys Innovation Space, AnsysGPT, and other AI-driven support platforms to diagnose problems, surface solutions, and accelerate case resolution
- Follow established support processes to ensure timely responses, thorough documentation, and high customer satisfaction across your case queue
- Build technical depth in high-frequency electromagnetics simulation, staying current with product features, industry applications, and customer use cases
- Submit product enhancement requests and file defect reports when you identify software issues, then verify fixes once engineering delivers them
- Participate in field testing of new releases, validating that features work as intended and meet real-world customer needs before general availability
- Contribute to team knowledge by documenting solutions, creating internal guides, and sharing insights from customer interactions
The Impact You Will Have
- Enable customers to move faster by removing technical blockers that would otherwise stall their design cycles
- Strengthen customer trust and loyalty by delivering reliable, expert support that helps them succeed with Synopsys simulation tools
- Improve product quality by surfacing bugs, usability issues, and feature gaps directly from the field to engineering teams
- Accelerate adoption of new simulation capabilities and AI-enhanced workflows across diverse industries and use cases
- Build a stronger support knowledge base that benefits the entire team and future customers
- Help shape the roadmap for Ansys products by channeling real customer needs and pain points back into development
- Grow your own technical expertise in a domain that sits at the center of next-generation electronics design
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromagnetics Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- Hands-on experience with high-frequency electromagnetics, whether through academic research, thesis work, or professional projects involving RF, microwave, antenna design, signal integrity, or related applications
- Solid understanding of simulation principles and engineering fundamentals in the high-frequency domain
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues
- Strong logical problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues
- Experience with Ansys software, or other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM tools is a strong plus
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time for customer visits or team events
Who You Are
- You build rapport quickly with customers and colleagues, even when the conversation starts with frustration or confusion
- You stay organized under pressure, managing multiple cases at once without losing track of details or commitments
- You adapt easily to new tools and workflows, whether that is learning a new simulation module or picking up an AI-powered support platform
- You work well independently but also know when to pull in a teammate or escalate to get the customer the right answer
- You are driven by results and take ownership of your cases from first contact through resolution
- You are genuinely interested in continuous learning, whether that is a new product feature, a customer industry, or a technical domain you have not touched yet
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join a collocated team in Athens that supports customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The team works closely together in the same office, which means you will have daily face-to-face collaboration, shared problem-solving sessions, and direct access to colleagues who can help you ramp up quickly. You will support customers in similar time zones, making collaboration and real-time communication straightforward. The team is part of the broader Ansys, part of Synopsys Customer Excellence organization, and you will work alongside engineers who are committed to your growth, knowledge sharing, and delivering outstanding results for customers.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
