We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate chip-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have built things, broken things, and figured out why they broke. Engineering simulation is not abstract to you. It is the tool you use to answer real questions about real systems, and you have learned that the hardest part is not running the software but framing the problem correctly in the first place. You like being the person who gets the call when something is not working, not because you know every answer, but because you know how to find it.

You are comfortable moving between a customer's orbital mechanics questions and a Python script that automates their workflow. You do not need perfect documentation to be useful. You read between the lines, ask clarifying questions, and get people unstuck. When a customer says, "it is not working," you know that means ten different things, and you are patient enough to figure out which one.

You have a bias toward solving the problem in front of you, not the one you wish they had asked. At Synopsys, you will work with customers who are designing satellites, testing defense systems, and modeling complex missions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical support to customers using Digital Mission Engineering tools including STK, ODTK, TETK, and related products, troubleshooting issues across astrodynamics, RF, optical systems, and mission analysis workflows
  • Reproduce customer issues, isolate root causes, and deliver solutions using a combination of engineering knowledge, software expertise, and the internal Ansys support toolset
  • Write and test code in Python, MATLAB, C++, or Java to help customers automate workflows, integrate tools, or validate results
  • Document defects, verify fixes, and submit product improvement requests based on real customer feedback and recurring technical challenges
  • Deliver webinars, product demonstrations, and technical training sessions to support customer onboarding and adoption
  • Participate in field testing of new software releases to ensure features work in real-world customer environments before general availability
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to translate customer needs into actionable product direction

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enable customers to solve mission-critical engineering problems faster, whether that is optimizing satellite trajectories, modeling RF link performance, or validating complex system behaviors
  • Reduce time to value for new customers by helping them integrate Ansys tools into their existing workflows and design processes
  • Improve product quality by surfacing real-world use cases, edge cases, and workflow gaps that internal teams would not catch on their own
  • Build long-term customer relationships that increase adoption, renewal, and expansion of Ansys solutions across aerospace, defense, and commercial space sectors
  • Contribute to a knowledge base and internal best practices that make the entire support team more effective
  • Influence product roadmaps by channeling consistent customer feedback into feature requests that shape future releases
  • Represent the voice of the customer in cross-functional meetings, ensuring that what gets built solves the problems people have

What You'll Need

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of professional experience in an engineering software environment, or MS with 0+ years
  • Hands-on experience writing code in one or more of the following: Python, MATLAB, C++, Java
  • Demonstrated use of Ansys software or comparable commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM tools in a professional or academic setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers at varying levels of expertise
  • Organizational skills and time management that allow you to juggle multiple customer cases, prioritize effectively, and follow through without dropping threads
  • Coursework or work experience in astrodynamics, orbit determination, trajectory optimization, or attitude determination and control systems is a strong plus
  • Background in RF engineering, optical engineering, model-based systems engineering, or related domains is a plus
  • Prior experience with STK, ODTK, or other Digital Mission Engineering tools is a plus

Who You Are

  • You can take a vague customer question like "the results look wrong" and turn it into a structured troubleshooting plan without getting frustrated
  • You know when to dig deeper and when to escalate, and you are comfortable saying "I do not know yet, but I will find out"
  • You treat customer success as your success, not just ticket closure, and you follow up even when it is not required
  • You can explain a complex orbital mechanics’ concept to a new user in two sentences without oversimplifying or losing the nuance
  • You are comfortable working independently but know when to pull in a colleague or escalate when a problem is outside your scope
  • You can manage competing priorities across multiple customer cases, internal projects, and team initiatives without losing track of what matters most

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join the Digital Mission Engineering Customer Excellence team based in Exton, PA. This is an in-person role. The team supports customers across aerospace, defense, and commercial space sectors who rely on STK, ODTK, TETK, and related tools to design, test, and operate complex missions. You will work alongside engineers with deep expertise in astrodynamics, RF systems, geospatial analysis, and spacecraft operations. The team values collaboration, technical depth, and a customer-first mindset.
