The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $98,000.00 - $146,000.00. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Own capacity planning for all of Synopsys: Plans for how to scale infrastructure resources most efficiently.
- Execute demand planning processes resulting in strategic alignment across multiple stakeholders to develop infrastructure capacity plans for the acquisition of infrastructure resources.
- Develop and analyze various business and technical scenarios to drive the highest levels of executive decision making around infrastructure resources.
- Build automated, scalable, and rigorous solutions to infrastructure problems by leveraging or developing state-of-the-art automation, mathematical optimization, and/or AI models.
- Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels.
- Identify capacity-related issues proactively and work across technical and business teams to define and implement solutions.
- Desire to learn about capacity planning and optimization.
- Identify issues at on-demand/scale deployments and resolve those within an agreed SLA.
- Identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes, identifying business risks and implementing resolutions and scalable mechanisms.
- Ensure efficient resource utilization and continuously improve processes leveraging automation and internal tools resulting in enhanced service delivery, maturity, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.
- Conduct research to identify new technologies and solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with a wide range of infrastructure technologies, such as but not limited to Linux, Windows, High-performance computing, storage platforms, networking, cloud computing, cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc.), virtualization, OpenStack, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure project planning and execution.
- Have a strong command and understanding of statistical concepts/models/analysis and how they relate to product reliability & life cycle analysis.
- Experience developing quantitative and qualitative analysis and metrics to solve business problems.
- Experience with developing service level indicators and objectives, instrumenting software, and building alerts.
- Hands on experience with one or more of Java/Python/Go/AngularJS/NodeJS languages.
- Implementation experience in infra-automation tools and frameworks like GitHub, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Terraform (IaC), Ansible, Shell scripting.
- Passion for tracking down technical root causes of distributed systems, and software.
- Service availability-oriented mindset with a pro-active approach to problem solving. An ideal candidate should be able to develop automated solutions to prevent recurring problems.
- Strong time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
- Experience to manage ambiguity, effective intellectual curiosity to learn new aspects of the business.
- Good verbal and writing skills as well as the ability to communicate at a high level.
- Self-motivating, independent, and committed to getting things done.
- Possesses the ability and willingness to challenge the status-quo and optimize current processes and procedures.
Education & Experience:
- Masters/Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5+ years of experience
- 4+ years of experience with performance analysis, infrastructure capacity planning in large organizations.
