You Are

You have spent time in digital design or physical implementation, and you know that the difference between a chip that tapes out and one that gets stuck in timing closure is usually a floorplan decision made two weeks earlier. You care about that decision. You are the kind of engineer who opens a log file, sees a thousand warnings, and knows which three actually matter.

You do not need to know everything yet, but you know how to learn fast and ask the right questions when you are stuck. You have debugged timing violations, stared at congestion maps, and tried to squeeze another 50 MHz out of a block that was supposed to be done last week. You understand that implementation is not just running tools, it is understanding tradeoffs between power, area, and performance, and making calls that hold up under pressure.

Working withcustomers does not intimidate you. You can explain a routing issue or a setup violation without losing the technical thread, and you are comfortable saying "let me dig into that and get back to you" when you do not have the answer yet. At Synopsys, you willwork on real customer designs, solve real implementation problems, and build expertise that matters in this industry.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support customers using Synopsys implementation tools like Fusion Compiler and IC Compiler II, helping them debug timing violations, routing congestion, floorplanning issues, and power/area tradeoffs
• Analyze customer design flows from RTL to GDSII, reproduce issues in-house, and work withinternal engineering teams to resolve tool-related or methodology challenges
• Review tool logs, identify root causes of failures or performance bottlenecks, and provide clear technical guidance to customers on next steps
• Develop and deliver technical documentation, application notes, and best practice guides based on customer engagements and recurring issues
• Participate in customer meetings, debug sessions, and technical reviews, representing Synopsys as a trusted technical resource
• Collaborate with product engineering, R&Dto escalate complex cases and contribute to product improvement based on real-world customer feedback
• Build internal knowledge through hands-on work withsynthesis, place and route, timing closure, and physical verification flows
• Accompany with sale team for pre-sale/post sale to increase biz chance

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals and the RTL-to-GDSII physical implementation flow
• Knowledge of synthesis and physical design concepts including timing closure, floorplanning, place and route, and congestion analysis
• Ability to work in Linux/Unix environments and navigate command-line workflows
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, you willbe working directly withcustomers and internal teams
• Hands-on experience withFusion Compiler, IC Compiler II, or similar industry-standard implementation tools is a strong plus
• Scripting experience in TCL, Python, Perl, or Shell is a plus and willhelp you automate tasks and debug faster

• You can juggle multiple support cases at once without losing track of details or letting things fall through the cracks
• You care about documentation, not because someone told you to, but because you know that writing things down makes the next case easier
• You work well independently but you also know when to pull in a teammate or escalate to engineering, collaboration is not a weakness
