You Are

You have spent years working close enough to chip design to know that the real work happens in the messy space between what the foundry specifies, what the tools can do, and what the customer actually needs to ship. You understand that a fill runset is not just a script, it is the thing that keeps a tapeout from slipping by three weeks because someone caught a DRC violation at 2 a.m. You are the kind of engineer who can sit in a room with a foundry partner, hear what they are really asking for underneath the jargon, and walk out with a plan that works for both the process node and the product roadmap. You do not wait for perfect documentation. You dig into the runset, test it, break it if you need to, and come back with a fix or a workaround that actually holds up in production. You have worked enough customer escalations to know that the fastest path to resolution is usually a combination of technical depth and clear communication, and you are comfortable doing both. At Synopsys, you will work on fill technology that powers the most advanced process nodes in the industry, and the foundries and customers you support will know your name.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner directly with leading foundries to develop, qualify, and release advanced fill runsets for cutting-edge process nodes, ensuring they meet both foundry specifications and customer production requirements
• Collaborate with R&D teams to define and drive new ICV features that address real foundry and customer needs, translating technical gaps into product requirements that ship
• Support customer engagements by diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues in fill flows, DRC runsets, and physical design environments, often under tight tapeout timelines
• Work across internal teams including sales, product management, and engineering to align on customer priorities, technical roadmaps, and deployment strategies
• Manage the full lifecycle of runset releases, from initial development and testing through deployment, maintenance, and ongoing customer adoption in production flows
• Drive root-cause analysis on escalations, working with customers and foundries to identify issues, propose solutions, and close the loop with product improvements
• Bring foundry and customer feedback into the product development cycle, helping shape the next generation of Synopsys fill and verification solutions

• Build long-term technical credibility with key accounts, becoming the engineer they call when something critical needs to work
• Contribute to Synopsys competitive position in physical verification by ensuring our fill solutions remain best-in-class for the most advanced process nodes

What You'll Need

• Solid understanding of ASIC design flow, VLSI fundamentals, and CAD engineering principles, with the ability to navigate complex design environments
• Working knowledge of Design Rule Checking, fill insertion, or physical verification flows, ideally with hands-on experience in at least one EDA tool suite
• Familiarity with competitive EDA products in verification, place and route, or physical design, and an understanding of how they fit into the broader design flow
• Ability to manage technical projects from scoping through delivery, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders without losing sight of the end goal
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous or incomplete information, finding solutions that are both technically sound and practical
• Experience working with foundries, customers, or cross-functional engineering teams is a plus
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required for effective communication with foundry and customer teams in Taiwan and across Asia

The team supports some of the most advanced semiconductor design projects in the industry, working closely with foundries, design teams, and sales professionals to ensure Synopsys solutions deliver in production.
