ASIC Applications Engineer

Job Description
This position requires a highly motivated individual to work with Synopsys’ customers on efficient integrating and usage of Synopsys processor IP into their ASIC SoC/systems for next generation products. The position offers opportunities to work on state-of-the-art Synopsys IP and the latest industry specifications with market-leading customers. The position will provide IP integration guidance to customers throughout their SoC flow to resolve technical challenges, perform integration reviews and support silicon/system bring-up and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Solve complex problems involving multi-core processors
- Support customers using AI and vector DSP products
- Enable customer migration to new generation of processors and efficient usage
- Author technical articles, application notes and whitepapers
- Execute hardware and software benchmarks on Synopsys processors and AI IP
- Provide customer feedback on new IP requirements to Synopsys R&D & marketing teams
Master’s or foreign equivalent in Communications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field and at least 2 years of experience.
Alternative Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Communications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field and at least 4 years of experience.
Education or relevant experience in any of the following areas:
Processor architectures
- DSP IP
- Deep Neural Network frameworks
- ASIC or FPGA design flows
- Programming for embedded systems
- Hardware digital design using Verilog or SystemVerilog
- Familiarity with industry-standard protocols will be a plus (AMBA, DDR)
Debug and troubleshooting skills
- Creative and results oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to interact with customers worldwide
- High degree of self-motivation and personal responsibility
- Strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
