Job Description
We Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are a seasoned analog design engineer with a passion for innovation and a knack for solving complex technical problems. With a solid foundation in electrical engineering and extensive experience in integrated circuit (IC) design, you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy leading projects from concept to completion. Your expertise spans high-speed PHY designs such as DDR, HBM, or SERDES, and you have a deep understanding of transistor-level circuit design and CMOS fundamentals. You excel in proposing and implementing design and verification strategies that optimize power, area, and performance. Your ability to guide and mentor junior engineers is matched by your independent judgment in refining circuit architectures. You are adept at overseeing physical layout to minimize parasitic effects and process variations, and you are skilled in presenting simulation data for peer and customer reviews. Your knowledge of design for reliability and familiarity with layout effects ensures that you can propose effective post-silicon design updates. You are proficient with tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification, and you have a solid grasp of SPICE simulators and Verilog-A for analog behavioral modeling.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Reviewing SerDes standards to develop analog top and sub-block specifications.
- Leading projects and guiding junior engineers through complex design challenges.
- Identifying and refining circuit architectures to achieve optimal power, area, and performance targets.
- Proposing design and verification strategies to ensure the highest quality design using simulator features efficiently.
- Overseeing physical layout to minimize the effect of parasitics, device stress, and process variation.
- Reviewing and presenting simulation data for peer and customer review.
- Defining and documenting design features and test plans.
- Proposing solutions for post-silicon design updates.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Contributing to the development of cutting-edge technology that powers the next generation of high-performance silicon chips.
- Driving innovation in analog design, ensuring our products meet and exceed industry standards.
- Enhancing the efficiency and quality of our design processes through your expertise and leadership.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensuring our products are reliable and perform optimally in various applications, from self-driving cars to advanced computing systems.
- Playing a key role in the successful delivery of complex projects, meeting deadlines, and achieving business targets.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- BSEE degree with 7+ years of industry experience in IC design, or MSEE (or PhD) with 6+ years of experience.
- Design experience in high-speed PHY such as DDR, HBM, or SERDES.
- In-depth familiarity with transistor-level circuit design and sound CMOS design fundamentals.
- Experience with tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification.
- Understanding of SPICE simulators and simulation methods.
- Knowledgeable in Verilog-A for analog behavioral modeling and simulation-control/data-capture.
Who You Are:
- A highly skilled analog design engineer with a strong technical background.
- An innovative thinker who excels in solving complex problems.
- A leader who can guide and mentor junior engineers.
- A detail-oriented professional with a focus on quality and reliability.
- An effective communicator who can present technical information clearly.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic work environment.
