We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are a technically driven engineer with deep expertise in optical system design and simulation — particularly in Speos — passionate about delivering customer-centric solutions that span multiple product lines. You combine strong technical leadership with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. You are ready to step in as a dedicated Speos expert on the Optics Solutions Engineering team, and to lead a coordinated Agentic AI initiative across our optics portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing:
You will lead the design and realization of optical solutions, leveraging your expertise to develop strategic plans, refine requirements, and provide technical leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving coordination of Agentic AI solution efforts across the optics portfolio, helping define priorities and align teams around customer-relevant outcomes.
- Leading and developing Agentic AI optical design and simulation solutions for Speos and cross-product workflows.
- Bringing dedicated Speos expertise into the Optics Solutions Engineering team to support Speos product development, enable cross-product workflows, and address common design and simulation challenges.
- Developing optical system design and simulation workflows and tools for applications in high tech, automotive, and other industries.
- Staying closely connected to field teams to validate solutions against real customer problems and workflows, and translating that feedback into R&D priorities.
- Assessing customer workflows, gathering requirements, and driving the design, specification, and prototyping of new methodologies and solutions.
- Leading planning at a project level, operating without direct supervision, and functioning as a team leader or project manager — coordinating teams to execute the plan.
What You'll Need:
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience.
- Experience with AI tools for software development (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and a working understanding of Agentic AI solution architectures.
- Significant experience with Speos.
- Significant experience designing camera systems and optical systems for applications in high tech, automotive, and related industries.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with programming languages such as Python.
- Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a commercial software development environment, including coordinating across multiple teams.
- Ability to translate business needs into development plans and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies and to mentor junior team members.
The Team You'll Be a Part Of:
Synopsys offers a comprehensive portfolio of optics and photonics simulation tools. These tools support a broad range of applications, from automotive lighting and sensors to consumer electronics and high-tech optical systems.
As part of the Optics Solutions Engineering Team, you will lead complex solutions engineering challenges, drive Synopsys' leadership in AI-powered optical design, and collaborate with customers and partners to enable a thriving global design ecosystem.
