We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You bring extensive experience operating mission-critical infrastructure services in complex, large-scale environments. Your expertise spans LDAP directory services, DNS, SMTP, DHCP, and Unix-based systems, and you have consistently delivered high availability across distributed architectures.

You approach infrastructure with a focus on automation, observability, and operational excellence. You design solutions that account for failure modes and long-term maintainability. Your technical leadership extends to incident management, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Security, and Cloud teams.

At Synopsys, you will own the infrastructure services that underpin daily operations for 30,000 employees globally.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the reliability, availability, and operational health of LDAP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, and other Unix-based infrastructure services.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, incident response, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Lead infrastructure projects, including solution design, deployment, upgrades, and service modernization.
  • Drive automation through scripting and configuration management to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Design and maintain highly available, secure, and resilient infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability practices to improve service reliability and operational visibility.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on enterprise initiatives and provide technical leadership for infrastructure services.
  • Develop operational standards, documentation, and best practices.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Directly improve uptime and reliability for directory services, email, DNS, and network services that support engineering workflows across Synopsys globally
  • Reduce incident frequency and mean time to recovery by identifying root causes, implementing fixes, and automating responses to known failure patterns
  • Accelerate infrastructure delivery timelines by replacing manual processes with repeatable, version-controlled automation
  • Increase operational visibility by building monitoring and alerting that catches problems before users notice
  • Enable secure, scalable infrastructure growth by designing solutions that work across on-premises data centers, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Raise the technical bar for the team by mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge, and setting standards for how infrastructure services should be built and operated
  • Free up team capacity by eliminating repetitive manual work, allowing engineers to focus on higher-value projects and service improvements

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in site reliability, infrastructure engineering, or Unix/Linux systems administration, with a track record of owning production services at scale
  • Strong working knowledge of LDAP directory services such as Oracle Unified Directory, OpenLDAP, 389DS, or Red Hat Directory Server, including architecture, replication, and troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge of Postfix SMTP including architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Strong working knowledge of DNS technologies like BIND, Unbound, Anycast, DHCP services in production environments including architecture and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Infoblox or similar IPAM solutions is a plus
  • Proven ability to automate infrastructure using Ansible, shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell), and cron-based job scheduling
  • Experience designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions that provide actionable insights into service health
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, and the ability to operate infrastructure across hybrid environments
  • Strong incident management skills, including troubleshooting complex distributed systems, performing root cause analysis, and leading post-incident reviews

Who You Are

  • You demonstrate strong leadership during critical incidents, rapidly assessing system failures, coordinating response efforts, and driving resolution while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
  • You develop automation and infrastructure code with maintainability in mind, ensuring documentation and implementation clarity that enables team members to support and extend your work
  • You communicate complex technical concepts effectively across organizational levels, translating infrastructure challenges into clear business context for leadership and detailed guidance for engineering teams
  • You take a systematic approach to problem resolution, investigating underlying causes rather than addressing symptoms, and implementing preventive measures to improve long-term system stability

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You’ll join a collaborative engineering team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise infrastructure services. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to improve service reliability, expand automation and observability, modernize infrastructure, and solve complex technical challenges. Our culture emphasizes technical ownership, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
