We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

With over 10 years of experience designing high-performance PCBs, you know that the decisions that matter most are often made long before a board reaches the lab. Multi-gigabit interfaces, signal integrity, power delivery, stack-up definition, and layout trade-offs are familiar territory. When issues emerge, you're able to identify the root cause, evaluate the options, and make the engineering decisions that keep a project on track.

Transmission lines, return paths, SI/PI analysis, and 3D EM modelling are all part of your toolkit. Experience with HFSS or similar tools has given you the judgement to distinguish between interesting simulation results and the ones that genuinely influence a design. Just as importantly, you're comfortable balancing technical depth with project delivery, whether that means leading multiple PCB developments, supporting customer discussions, reviewing layouts, or guiding design trade-offs. At Synopsys, you'll own PCB design for advanced IP test chips and work alongside a global team developing technologies that enable the next generation of semiconductor products.

What You'll Be Doing

•Lead six or more test-chip PCB designs per year from requirements and architecture through physical layout, verification, and delivery

•Define PCB requirements early with customers and internal teams, including ball-map planning, routing channel assessment, and layer stackup decisions optimized for signal integrity and power integrity

•Perform hands-on PCB layout and physical design using industry-standard tools

•Extract electrical models from your PCB designs, validate model accuracy, and run SI/PI analysis to guide design decisions and catch problems before fabrication

•Guide customers through PCB architecture evaluations and implementation tradeoffs for Synopsys IP integration

•Coordinate design schedules, technical reviews, and deliverables across internal engineering teams, customers, and external manufacturing partners

•Provide regular project updates to management covering progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans

The Impact You Will Have

•Your PCB designs will enable Synopsys customers to validate and integrate high-performance IP (like PCIe8, E224, DDR6, HBM4 / 5 or UCIe3) in real silicon, directly affecting product timelines and success

•The models you extract and the SI/PI analysis you perform will catch electrical issues early, reducing costly respins and schedule delays

•Your technical leadership on cross-functional projects will set the standard for PCB design quality and execution across the business unit

•The architecture guidance you provide to customers will help them make better tradeoff decisions and adopt Synopsys IP with confidence

•Your ability to manage multiple concurrent designs will directly improve team throughput and predictability

•The design standards and best practices you establish will raise the bar for signal integrity and power integrity performance across the portfolio

•Your coordination across global teams will ensure smoother handoffs, fewer surprises, and higher-quality outcomes

What You'll Need

•10+ years of hands-on experience in high-speed PCB design and layout, electrical modeling, or signal integrity and power integrity analysis

•Advanced working knowledge of circuit theory and transmission line theory, and the ability to apply it to real PCB design and analysis decisions

•Demonstrated experience building, validating, and interpreting 3D electromagnetic models using Ansys HFSS or equivalent tools, and using those results to drive design choices

•Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to customers, partners, and cross-functional teams

•Working proficiency in Windows and Linux environments for engineering design and analysis workflows

•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent field

•Experience leading multiple concurrent PCB projects and managing schedules, reviews, and deliverables is a strong plus
