Job Description

Category Engineering Hire Type Employee Job ID 13381 Remote Eligible No Date Posted 17/11/2025

We Are:

At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a highly accomplished analog design expert with a deep understanding of high-speed connectivity, SerDes architectures, and advanced system modeling. Your technical background is complemented by a strategic mindset, allowing you to anticipate design challenges and pioneer effective solutions. With over eight years of direct experience, you have mastered analog block design, behavioral modeling, and the nuances of analog non-idealities that impact system performance. You are adept at both hands-on circuit design and abstract modeling, bridging the gap between physical hardware and simulation environments.

You thrive in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your insights to help others grow. Your communication skills allow you to translate complex simulation results into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. You are meticulous in reviewing design changes, ensuring every update aligns with project goals and customer requirements. Proactive and resourceful, you seek out opportunities to enhance verification strategies, streamline workflows, and contribute to the overall excellence of the product.

Your approach is rooted in continuous learning and adaptability. You stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and EDA tool advancements, integrating best practices into your daily work. You are motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the next generation of silicon solutions, empowering global innovation in communications, automotive, consumer electronics, and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Developing accurate behavioral models for analog blocks including AFEs, ADCs, DLLs, ILOs, phase mixers/rotators, VCOs, and other critical SerDes components used in high-speed system designs and PHY emulation.
  • Analyzing and modeling analog non-idealities—such as noise, jitter, mismatch, and process variations—ensuring these effects are properly captured to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Reviewing modifications proposed by block owners, incorporating these changes into existing analog models, and validating updates through rigorous simulation and verification processes.
  • Designing and implementing advanced verification strategies that leverage the strengths of developed models, balancing accuracy, efficiency, and scalability for complex SOC projects.
  • Preparing comprehensive simulation datasets, visualizations, and reports for peer reviews, customer presentations, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Consulting on electrical characterization of modeled circuits, collaborating closely with the SerDes IP product team to ensure consistency between simulation and silicon measurements.
  • Supporting integration of analog models with digital and mixed-signal platforms, enabling seamless system-level verification and emulation.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

What You’ll Need:

  • MSc or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 8+ years of direct experience in SerDes/high-speed analog design and system modeling.
  • Expert proficiency in Verilog-A and System Verilog for analog behavioral modeling, simulation control, and data capture.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in TCL, Perl, C, Python, and MATLAB for design automation, data analysis, and model development.
  • Proven hands-on design experience with SerDes sub-circuits: receive equalizers, data samplers, voltage/current-mode drivers, serializers/deserializers, VCOs, phase interpolators, DLLs, PLLs, bandgap references, ADCs, and DACs.
  • In-depth familiarity with transistor-level circuit design and sound CMOS design fundamentals.
  • Comprehensive experience with EDA tools for schematic entry, design verification, and layout; advanced knowledge of SPICE simulators and simulation methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze, visualize, and present complex simulation data to diverse audiences.

Who You Are:

  • Innovative thinker with a passion for technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Exceptional communicator, able to convey complex concepts with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborative team player who values diversity and cross-disciplinary engagement.
  • Proactive problem solver, adaptable to evolving project requirements and industry trends.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, committed to delivering high-quality results on schedule.
  • Mentor and leader, invested in the growth and development of colleagues.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Elevate the accuracy and robustness of Synopsys’ SerDes IP solutions, directly influencing the performance of high-speed communication systems worldwide.
  • Accelerate product development cycles by providing reliable, adaptable analog models that facilitate rapid prototyping and system validation.
  • Improve overall product quality and customer satisfaction through meticulous review, validation, and integration of design changes.
  • Advance verification methodologies and workflows, contributing to reduced time-to-market and enhanced design efficiency.
  • Empower cross-functional teams and customers with clear, actionable simulation data and technical guidance.
  • Support the development of future-ready connectivity solutions for automotive, data center, and consumer electronics applications.
  • Foster innovation and knowledge sharing within the team, driving continuous improvement and technical leadership.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will join a highly skilled and collaborative analog design team responsible for pioneering SerDes IP solutions at Synopsys. The team combines deep technical expertise with a culture of innovation, open communication, and mutual support. Working closely with digital, verification, and customer-facing groups, you will help drive technical advancements and deliver industry-defining products that set new standards for high-speed connectivity.
