You Are:

You are a creative, enthusiastic, and talented engineer with a passion for technology and innovation. You have a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, and ideally you bring at least one year of relevant experience to the table. You are well-versed in microelectronics, mixed-signal IC concepts, and both digital and analog circuits. Your understanding of transmission lines and s-parameters is solid, and you possess practical knowledge of Verilog, Python, and Matlab. Your familiarity with UNIX operating systems and scripting, coupled with your hands-on experience with laboratory bench instruments, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.


You thrive in a collaborative environment and are a proactive and supportive team player. Your continuous improvement mindset drives you to constantly seek better ways to accomplish tasks and solve problems. You are detail-oriented and possess strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. Your ability to understand test specifications, datasheets, and circuit schematics is exceptional, and you excel in reporting and documentation. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Characterizing Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuits with Synopsys IP.
  • Designing and implementing laboratory test setups.
  • Utilizing high-end laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators, and network analyzers.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues.
  • Understanding and interpreting test specifications, datasheets, and circuit schematics.
  • Reporting and documenting test results and processes.
  • Following quality processes to ensure high standards.
  • Collaborating with hardware engineers to enhance or develop new test setups.
  • Providing support to internal teams and customers.

You will be part of the Synopsys Laboratory Team in Porto, Portugal, which is part of a worldwide team responsible for the test and characterization of several IP products, such as HDMI, DP, and MIPI (CDPHY, DPHY, MPHY). This team focuses on ensuring the high performance and reliability of Synopsys IP products through rigorous testing and validation processes.
