We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You are the person teams call when the problem is complex, ambiguous, and technically important. You have spent 15+ years building and improving silicon or logic systems, and you know how to connect detailed technical issues to the bigger quality picture. You bring strong expertise in I/O and interface IP, and you have helped improve methods, flows, and quality practices that made teams more effective. When recurring quality issues appear, you dig into the root cause and work across functions to drive durable fixes rather than short-term patches. You are a steady voice in high-pressure situations, able to turn technical complexity into clear next steps and help engineers and stakeholders stay aligned. You influence through technical credibility, mentor engineers, and contribute to stronger quality and design practices across the organization. You are energized by ambiguity, motivated by solving hard problems, and measured by the improvements you help teams make in quality, consistency, and execution.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead deep-dive RCCA and 8D investigations for the toughest, most visible silicon IP quality issues, making sure fixes work
  • Improving and driving adoption of quality standards that make engineering smoother, more predictable, and more scalable
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers—think design reviews, after-action reports, and technical debates—without ever needing to be their manager
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders and translating business goals into practical, sustainable strategies everyone can support
  • Be the trusted technical face for internal teams and stakeholders—your credibility builds confidence
  • Surface systemic risks early and drive cross-team interventions
  • Shape decisions that will leave design flows and quality systems better for the next generation

The Impact You Will Have

  • Build customer trust by putting real risk management and transparency at the heart of everything you do
  • Slash escalations by catching and fixing root causes early, before they hit the customer or the bottom line
  • Raise the bar for product and operational quality—no band-aids, only durable solutions
  • Multiply your impact by embedding quality ownership and best practices across teams and projects
  • Build a cultural standard where everyone—from R&D to Applications to Program Management—owns quality together
  • Leave a legacy of smarter systems and methodologies that make life easier and better for the next wave of engineers

What You'll Need

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD/MBA) with a minimum of 15 years with advanced technical roles in silicon, systems, or software
  • Expertise in at least one core Silicon IP interface (PHY, SerDes, DDR, HBM, UCIe) and a broad view across related domains
  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy and minimal direction—long-range objectives are your sweet spot
  • Strong communicator, able to move between engineers, and stakeholders without losing anyone in translation
  • Demonstrated experience running RCCA and 8D investigations that led to change
  • Impact across multiple product lines or technology generations, a plus
  • History of building and institutionalizing new engineering or quality practices highly valued
  • Hands-on with Microsoft Office, Confluence, Jira for reporting, tracking, and documentation
  • Experience with automation, workflow digitization, or quality data analytics is a bonus

Who You Are

  • Clearly break down a complex technical risk for an executive in two sentences
  • You’re the mentor senior engineers seek out when they hit a wall, and you help them level up
  • You drive to find the root cause (as the long-term objective) over settling for short term fixes
  • Expert at dealing with ambiguity, knowing how to influence decisions and clear roadblocks
