Senior Director, Product & Applications Engineering - Napean or Sunnyvale

You are:

As a senior leader within interface IP engineering group, you will be responsible for driving customer impact at scale, modernizing custom engagement model through AI, and developing high‑performingglobal teams.  You will bridge customer needs, business priorities, and technical execution to advance the Synopsys’ billion-dollar interface IP business to the next phase of growth.  This role is pivotal in transitioning the organization from the traditional engagement models to data‑driven, AI‑augmented, and repeatable execution success while maintaining deep technical credibility with top customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a globalproduct andapplications engineering organizationonguiding customers, from HPC to automotive,through the full SoC journey usingSynopsysinterface IPs including DDR, HBM, andotherhigh‑speedinterfaces.
• Own execution quality and outcomes for complex,high‑visibilitycustomer engagementsfrom IP configuration and integration to siliconbring‑upand production.
• Serve as a trusted partner to customer engineering leadership, shaping collaboration models andlong‑termtechnical engagement strategies.
• Drivecross‑functionalalignment to translate customer challenges into structured technical strategies and influence IP roadmaps by surfacing systemic pain points and execution bottlenecks.
• Act as the AI and digital transformation leader, championing adoption of AI tools in daily workflows and defining success metrics for efficiency, quality, and engineer enablement. 
• Build, mentor, andretainsenior technical leaders andnext‑generationexperts across a geographically distributed team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineeringor Computer Science, or equivalent depth of industry experience.
• 10+ years of semiconductor industry leadership experience, with recognizedexpertiseinsilicon development, siliconbring‑up, and validation,particularly across memory andhigh‑speedinterface technologies.
• Proventrack recordof building and leadinghigh‑performingglobal engineering organizations, withdemonstratedimpact at scale.
• Hands on experience with SOC developmentincluding design, verification orimplementation, interfaceIPdevelopmentor integration, especially around DDR memories and/or HBM memories.
• Exceptionalexecutive‑levelcommunication and influence skills, with the ability to engage credibly with customers, partners, and internal leadership at the most senior levels.
• Demonstrated success in drivingcross‑functionalstrategy and execution, navigating complex stakeholder environments to deliverbusiness‑criticaloutcomes.
