You Are:
You are an exceptional C++ developer with a background in or a keen interest in Custom Design and Layout in the field of Integrated Circuits. With a passion for solving complex problems, you thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge software solutions. You possess a strong foundation in software development and design, with extensive experience in C++, TCL, Python, and Linux. Your expertise in data structures, algorithms, and GUI systems, combined with your knowledge of layout principles and semiconductor manufacturing, makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You are a proactive problem solver, capable of working independently and as part of a multi-geography, multi-cultural team. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with peers and corporate application engineers to understand customer needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Designing new solutions to high-value problems in Custom Design and Layout areas, including new layout methodologies and applications of analytics and machine learning in layout.
* Collaborating on flagship layout automation projects maintained by local peers.
* Improving existing systems and providing solutions in Synopsys Custom products.
* Working with corporate application engineers to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
* Writing well-designed, well-tested, high-quality C++ programs.
* Creating design specifications and reviewing code written by peer members.

What You’ll Need:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
* 12+ years of experience in software development, including C++, TCL, Python, Linux, build and revision control systems, and specification writing/reviewing.
* Expertise in software design, including data structures, algorithms, GUI and interactive systems, and event-driven systems.
* Background in Layout Editor and its automation engines for Analog Design is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of digital EDA tools and flows, circuit analysis, layout principles, and semiconductor manufacturing.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
You will be part of the Custom Design & Manufacturing business unit, which focuses on building software solutions for custom design, analog, and mixed-signal design. Our team collaborates closely with the signoff extraction, verification, and simulation teams to develop differentiated solutions for designing and verifying advanced silicon analog and mixed-signal designs. We work together to design the next-generation processes and models needed to manufacture these chips, enabling our customers to optimize their designs for power, cost, and performance.
