We Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:
You are a highly skilled analog design professional with a passion for solving complex technical challenges. Your expertise in analog and mixed-signal debugging enables you to methodically investigate, analyze, and resolve intricate issues. You thrive in environments that require both independent critical thinking and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your analytical mindset, structured approach, and attention to detail ensure that you not only identify root causes but also deliver actionable solutions that drive lasting improvements.
You are comfortable with data-driven investigations, leveraging simulations, lab work, and schematic analysis to pinpoint issue mechanisms and design effective fixes. Communication is a key strength - you can translate technical findings into clear, concise documentation and articulate solutions to both internal stakeholders and customers. You value knowledge sharing, creating reusable documentation that empowers others across the organization. Your customer-facing experience enables you to build trust, explain technical details, and support issue resolution with professionalism and clarity.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Debugging complex analog and mixed-signal issues, conducting deep root-cause analysis using structured, data-driven investigation methods.
  • Running simulations to reproduce issues, evaluating results, and translating findings into hypotheses and actionable fix recommendations.
  • Executing lab testing and bench validation to confirm hypotheses, correlate lab data with simulation results, and support failure analysis.
  • Collaborating daily with the lab team to accelerate issue resolution and ensure alignment across physical design and validation.
  • Analyzing schematics, layouts, and physical design collateral to isolate issue mechanisms and identify corrective actions.
  • Developing and validating solutions, communicating recommended design and layout changes to internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Delivering high-quality documentation covering issue reproduction, simulation setup, lab correlation, analysis steps, findings, and fix recommendations.
  • Engaging directly with customers to communicate technical findings, issue status, analysis results, and proposed mitigations in a professional manner.
  • Collaborating across teams to accelerate turnaround time on high-priority issues and reduce repeat issues through knowledge sharing and process improvement.

The Impact You Will Have:
  • Accelerate identification and resolution of root causes for analog and mixed-signal issues, reducing project delays.
  • Deliver validated, actionable fixes that minimize repeat issues and enhance product reliability.
  • Build credibility and trust with customers through clear, timely, and professional communication of technical findings and recommendations.
  • Create reusable documentation that serves as a knowledge base for the debug and design communities, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
  • Support cross-functional alignment and collaboration, enabling faster and more effective issue closure.
  • Drive innovation in debug methodologies, contributing to the advancement of Synopsys’ industry-leading technology.
  • Enhance the quality and robustness of Synopsys’ analog and mixed-signal products, strengthening our competitive advantage.

What You’ll Need:
  • Ideally 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong analog design background with proven ability to debug complicated issues end-to-end.
  • Experience in running simulations, evaluating simulation results, and validating fixes.
  • Excellent knowledge of physical design, including layout fundamentals and layout-dependent effects (LDE).
  • Advanced analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills to distinguish symptoms from root causes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with design, physical design, and validation teams.
  • Clear and concise communication skills (written and verbal), especially in customer-facing settings.
  • Track record of creating documentation that is clear, comprehensive, and reusable.
  • Experience with lab equipment and bench validation techniques (preferred).
  • MATLAB proficiency for data analysis, modeling, or automation of debug workflows (preferred).
  • Exposure to automation/scripting to enhance debug and reporting efficiency (preferred).

Who You Are:
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Collaborative team player, fostering alignment across multiple functions.
  • Effective communicator, able to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proactive and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Customer-focused, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions and support.
  • Driven by continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
You will join the debug team at Synopsys, a talented group of analog and mixed-signal engineers committed to resolving complex technical challenges. The team works closely with lab, analog design, and physical design specialists, fostering a collaborative environment focused on rapid issue resolution and continuous process improvement. Together, you will support both internal and customer-facing projects, delivering innovative solutions that enhance product quality and reliability.
