- Debugging complex analog and mixed-signal issues, conducting deep root-cause analysis using structured, data-driven investigation methods.
- Running simulations to reproduce issues, evaluating results, and translating findings into hypotheses and actionable fix recommendations.
- Executing lab testing and bench validation to confirm hypotheses, correlate lab data with simulation results, and support failure analysis.
- Collaborating daily with the lab team to accelerate issue resolution and ensure alignment across physical design and validation.
- Analyzing schematics, layouts, and physical design collateral to isolate issue mechanisms and identify corrective actions.
- Developing and validating solutions, communicating recommended design and layout changes to internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Delivering high-quality documentation covering issue reproduction, simulation setup, lab correlation, analysis steps, findings, and fix recommendations.
- Engaging directly with customers to communicate technical findings, issue status, analysis results, and proposed mitigations in a professional manner.
- Collaborating across teams to accelerate turnaround time on high-priority issues and reduce repeat issues through knowledge sharing and process improvement.
- Accelerate identification and resolution of root causes for analog and mixed-signal issues, reducing project delays.
- Deliver validated, actionable fixes that minimize repeat issues and enhance product reliability.
- Build credibility and trust with customers through clear, timely, and professional communication of technical findings and recommendations.
- Create reusable documentation that serves as a knowledge base for the debug and design communities, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Support cross-functional alignment and collaboration, enabling faster and more effective issue closure.
- Drive innovation in debug methodologies, contributing to the advancement of Synopsys’ industry-leading technology.
- Enhance the quality and robustness of Synopsys’ analog and mixed-signal products, strengthening our competitive advantage.
- Ideally 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analog design background with proven ability to debug complicated issues end-to-end.
- Experience in running simulations, evaluating simulation results, and validating fixes.
- Excellent knowledge of physical design, including layout fundamentals and layout-dependent effects (LDE).
- Advanced analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills to distinguish symptoms from root causes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with design, physical design, and validation teams.
- Clear and concise communication skills (written and verbal), especially in customer-facing settings.
- Track record of creating documentation that is clear, comprehensive, and reusable.
- Experience with lab equipment and bench validation techniques (preferred).
- MATLAB proficiency for data analysis, modeling, or automation of debug workflows (preferred).
- Exposure to automation/scripting to enhance debug and reporting efficiency (preferred).
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with a structured approach to problem solving.
- Collaborative team player, fostering alignment across multiple functions.
- Effective communicator, able to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
