POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is required to comply with employment code in Korea.
This position will help strengthen the Synopsys health and safety program for the offices located in Korea (KR02, KR03, KR05) and support the 698 employees located in Korea. The candidate will act as the country lead for all health, safety and emergency response programs by implementing corporate programs and localizing them to ensure that Synopsys complies with local and country requirements.
The candidate will partner with People and Places to develop, implement and maintain the health and safety management systems; provide meaningful metrics and improve the work conditions for all employees by providing a comprehensive injury, illness and prevention program. This position will conduct risk and vulnerabilities assessments, design and test emergency preparedness and response plans, and conduct drills to test effectiveness.
The position reports to the Manager, Safety, Security and Resilience, APAC Region.
FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as Health and Safety Specialist for SNPS South Korea. Ensure Synopsys meets all health and safety regulatory requirements, meets corporate health and safety program requirements in South Korea region.
- Lead a proactive risk management program by conducting workplace risk/exposure assessments for various classes of hazard, job functions and environments (office, labs, shipping and receiving) and documenting in corporate audit program system under the direction health and safety leadership.
- Implement a health and safety management system using corporate reporting and auditing tools, recordkeeping and data management that complies with ISO 45001 standards.
- Build productive internal working relationships with Synopsys leaders to understand and support their business needs. Collaborate with other infrastructure partners such as Human Resources, Facilities, IT, Legal.
- Managing and coordination of health care, medical examination to be in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of Korea
- Develop health and safety training curriculum and conduct annual training classes for employees and emergency responders. Manage curriculum and certifications in the learning management systems.
- Conduct incident investigations, provide root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions and maintain recordkeeping in corporate record keeping systems.
- Co-management of SNPS South Korea sites security operations and perform SNPS global/Regional security policy, working as local main contact for site security operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (preferable in health & safety or similar field).
- 7+ years’ experience in business continuity, emergency management, EHS domain or related field.
- Professional certifications preferred (ASP, CSP, or CIH)
- Experience working in a global environment with regional responsibilities.
- Health and safety management systems, SharePoint, and information technology
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and process orientations
