Job Overview
This is a university program management role, responsible for developing long term relationships with key academics; proactively developing the use of Synopsys tools amongst professors and students; and nurturing strategic opportunities for collaborations with universities.
A successful candidate will have an EDA engineering background and a proven track record of managing cross-functional programs. A can-do attitude is key to success in this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop long-term relationships with key academics to
    • Increase the pool of graduate talent familiar with Synopsys tools;
    • Build relationships and establish a network to tap into  Korean research grants;
    • Increase Synopsys’ product popularity and branding in academia for classroom and research use.
    • Get early insight into university startup endeavors and productization plans of research results;
    • Understand and encourage industry partnerships.
  • Work with regional sales/marketing/field teams to fund and organize events such as design contests, tech talks at conferences or trade shows and major industry events with significant participation from universities and academic research programs.
  • Build and execute an events strategy that supports the deployment of Synopsys technology in academia (like Hackathons, design contests, thesis contests, scholarship programs).
  • Partner with recruiters on strategies to build strong ties between internship programs in the regional offices and top local universities.
  • Monitor and track EU funding programs that are targeting collaborative research with academia.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent science-based degree.
  • 10-15 years of experiences in EDA/microelectronic industry and/or semiconductor ecosystem. Experience of managing an academic partnership program or participation in EU programs would be beneficial.
  • A collaborative partner, strategic thinker, and result-oriented doer who can adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Interest in contributing and making a positive impact on the Synopsys corporate Academic Partnerships and University Programs.
