ASIP Designer Presales Field Applications Engineer

We are looking for dynamic presales Field Applications Engineers (FAE) with experience in FPGA/ASIC/SoC design and embedded processors to join our FAE team in North America and support Synopsys ASIP Designer product line. ASIP Designer is the leading tool-suite that enables system-on-chip designers to create their own Application-Specific Instruction-set Processor (ASIP).

In this role, you will develop and implement plans to expand ASIP customer base and market presence in North America. You will collaborate with Synopsys regional Sales and FAE teams to identify and drive new ASIP opportunities towards successful technical and business closure.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deploy strategies to expand ASIP customer base and market presence in North America
  • Identify, develop, and nurture new customer leads and new design opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales to identify and qualify new design opportunities, conduct initial discovery meetings and capture customers processor requirements, strategize and promote ASIP based solutions addressing customer needs
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to plan and drive ASIP awareness campaigns, conducting seminars and workshops to spread product knowledge across our customer base in North America
  • Drive, develop and maintain strong relationships with the ASIP customer base and their high-level management and key decision makers
  • Participate in main industry events and conferences to promote the ASIP product line and interact with potential customers and learn about their processor design applications and requirements
  • Gather market intelligence on comparable products and solutions offered by the competition

Key Qualifications

  • BS or MS in EE, CE or related equivalent with 10+ years of work experience in Semiconductor or Electronic System Design industry
  • 6+ years of experience in customer-facing presales roles involving ASIC/SoC product development projects
  • Proven skills and experience in discovering and developing presales opportunities
  • Knowledge and experience in FPGA/ASIC/SoC design methodologies and EDA tool flow
  • Good understanding of RISC and DSP processor architectures and the competitive landscape
  • Knowledge and experience with embedded processor requirements for one or more market segments (mobile, storage, automotive, networking, artificial intelligence) is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with customers and internal teams, listen to customer feedback and follow-up on actionable deliverables.
  • Ability to organize, conduct and co-ordinate meetings involving multiple internal/external teams; summarize and communicate the key notes and the resulting action items 
  • Proven presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel (up to 30%) within North America

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
