We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent a decade or more building, integrating, or supporting complex SoC architectures, and somewhere along the way you realized that the most interesting problems are not just technical, they are also about understanding what a customer is actually trying to build and why their current approach will not get them there. You think in systems, not just components. When someone describes an HPC roadmap or a next-generation AI accelerator, you are already mapping out the subsystem architecture, the protocol stack, the power envelope, and the three places where things will break if they are not careful.

You are comfortable in a lab with a high-speed scope debugging signal integrity issues on a customer board, and equally comfortable in a conference room translating those findings into a design recommendation that makes sense to an SoC lead who has fifteen other problems to solve that week. You do not just answer questions, you ask better ones. You push back when a requirement does not make sense, and you do it in a way that builds trust instead of friction.

At Synopsys, you will work directly with the teams building the most advanced chips in the world, and what you architect will show up in silicon that powers everything from data centers to autonomous vehicles.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Engage directly with customer architects and SoC leads at top-tier HPC and AI companies to gather system requirements, understand design constraints, and translate them into IP integration solutions that actually solve their problems
  • Architect subsystems that integrate Synopsys IP blocks including UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, and LPDDR into customer SoCs, specifying interfaces, performance targets, and implementation strategies
  • Drive customer success across the full lifecycle from IP evaluation and kickoff through integration, tape-out, and silicon bring-up, acting as the technical anchor when things get complicated
  • Develop technical collateral including architecture diagrams, design specifications, application notes, and white papers that help the presales team win designs and help customers implement successfully
  • Analyze customer target markets and design requirements, prioritize feedback, and work directly with Product Management and Design Engineering to influence the next generation of Synopsys IP roadmaps
  • Travel approximately 15 to 30 percent to customer sites, sales offices, and engineering centers to support evaluations, design reviews, and technical escalations
  • Provide technical training to field application engineers and key customers on IP products, integration best practices, and system-level design considerations

The Impact You Will Have

  • You will directly influence which designs Synopsys wins by translating deep technical understanding into solutions that differentiate our IP in competitive evaluations
  • Your architectural guidance will shape how customers build their next-generation SoCs, ensuring they get the performance, power, and area outcomes they need to succeed in their markets
  • You will define what gets built next by feeding real customer requirements and market insights back into the IP roadmap, ensuring Synopsys stays ahead of where the industry is going
  • Your technical collateral and training will scale your expertise across the field organization, enabling FAEs and customers to move faster and with more confidence
  • You will be the reason a customer chooses Synopsys IP over the competition, and the reason they come back for the next project
  • Your work will show up in production silicon that powers data centers, AI training clusters, edge devices, and autonomous systems used by millions of people
  • You will build long-term technical relationships with the architects and engineers at the companies defining the future of high-performance computing

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 10 or more years of hands-on experience as a design engineer, system architect, or applications engineer working on complex SoCs or ASIC projects
  • Deep working knowledge of interface, connectivity, and memory protocols including UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, and LPDDR, ideally across multiple protocol generations and use cases
  • Solid grounding in SoC design implementation including RTL design and verification using Verilog or SystemVerilog, synthesis and static timing analysis, physical design flow, testbench creation and simulation
  • Experience with high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity analysis, board assembly and manufacturing processes, and hands-on use of lab equipment including high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and traffic generators
  • Prior experience selecting, integrating, designing, or supporting semiconductor IP in a customer-facing or internal architecture role
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats, whether you are presenting to a VP or writing a design specification for an engineer

Who You Are

  • You can walk into a room with a customer's SoC team, listen to their system requirements, and walk out with a subsystem architecture that they trust because it accounts for the constraints they did not say out loud
  • You are organized enough to manage multiple customer engagements at once, each at a different stage, without losing track of commitments or letting details slip
  • You know the difference between a technical objection that needs data and one that needs a better explanation, and you adjust your approach accordingly
  • You are comfortable saying "I do not know, but I will find out" and then actually following through with the right answer and the right internal expert
  • You can debug a signal integrity issue on a customer board in the morning and present an IP roadmap to a VP of Engineering in the afternoon without missing a beat
  • You push back when a requirement does not make technical sense, but you do it in a way that helps the customer arrive at a better solution instead of just shutting down the conversation

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will be part of a group of dedicated professionals who work across geographical and organizational boundaries to integrate more capabilities into SoCs faster. The team is focused on driving revenue growth and accelerating business closure by partnering closely with customers, sales, and internal engineering teams. You will collaborate with field application engineers, product management, design engineering, and sales leadership to deliver solutions that win designs and drive long-term customer success.
