You Are:
As an experienced Unix/Linux Engineer, you are meticulous and detail-oriented, ensuring that customer inquiries are captured accurately and resolved efficiently. You are passionate about automation, constantly seeking ways to streamline repetitive tasks and empower users with self-service tools. Your expertise spans across modern technologies such as Ansible, Kubernetes, Openstack, and Grafana Prometheus, enabling you to support and enhance our engineering secure compute environment. Your problem-solving skills are exemplary, and you thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with various teams to achieve common goals. You are committed to maintaining security standards and ensuring compliance with Synopsys' policies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the environment, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the engineering secure compute environment across various application domains and platforms.
- Implement proper system patching to address security vulnerabilities and accurately report security incidents.
- Respond to alerts, report issues, escalate problems as required, and resolve significant matters using independent judgment within established support practices.
- Conduct system troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
- Assist with the automation of the IT environment using Ansible and various other tools.
- Utilize Okta to streamline automation for identity and access management in a secure environment.
- Demonstrate proficient troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills.
- Stay innovative to improve productivity.
- Assist other teams within the Information Technology organization in the support of their projects.
- Ensure compliance with Synopsys security policies to protect stakeholder information.

What You’ll Need:
- Extensive knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking.
- Strong knowledge of network-related services like NFS, NIS/LDAP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Ability to write and understand scripts written in Python, PERL, and UNIX SHELLs such as Bourne or c-shell.
- Experience in Linux system administration, patching, and security updates.
- Masters degree in Computer Science or relevant engineering majors and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience in an ISO 27001 compliant environment.
- Experience in creating highly automated infrastructures.
