Applications Engineering, Staff Engineer (TCAD)

They work on intricate tasks such as chip architecture, circuit design, and verification to ensure the efficiency and reliability of semiconductor products. These engineers play a crucial role in advancing technology and enabling innovations in various industries.
Job Description
As a TCAD Applications Engineer, you will enable customer flows and deploy TCAD simulation and implementation solutions for key customers.
You will collaborate with Sales and R&D teams to define and drive the product direction by identifying designer needs and specifying tool capabilities for the power device region and the next generation designs.
You will work closely with customers to solve complex technical challenges for power device designs and methodologies through the following activities:
- Pre-sales: Team up with sales to lead technical evaluations/benchmarks, methodology presentations, products pitch and demos to win engagements with Synopsys’ solutions.
- Post-sales: Support customer's requirements and questions to use TCAD effectively, as well as customer training and on-site support.
- Leverage: Driving product improvements by providing customer input to Synopsys R&D and product groups.
The ideal candidate will have:
- BTech/MTech in CS/EE from a reputed university
- 5+ years of experience in device development/design with TCAD
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of semiconductor or solid-state device physics
- Programming skills: Python/TCL/sh scripting
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
- Basic skill of Linux
- Good teamwork attitude, self-driven and pro-active
- Passion for resolving engineering problems of the customers
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Material Science/Engineering
- Experience in working with worldwide cross-functional teams
- Good knowledge of semiconductor device fabrication process
- Knowledge of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML(Machine Learning)
