We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent years inside circuit simulators, not just using them but understanding what happens under the hood when a signal degrades or a model breaks. High-speed channel modeling is not abstract theory to you. You know what inter-symbol interference looks like in real systems, and you have debugged enough crosstalk and jitter issues to recognize when a simulation result does not smell right.

Writing code that simulates circuits at scale means balancing accuracy with performance, and you have made those tradeoffs before. You are comfortable in C/C++, building engines that need to hold up under real customer workloads, not just pass unit tests. When a customer describes a signal integrity problem, you can map that conversation back to what needs to change in the simulator or the methodology.

You work in both English and Japanese without losing technical precision in either language. That matters here because the customers you will support and the teams you will collaborate with span geographies, and being able to listen, translate needs, and deliver solutions across languages is part of the job.

At Synopsys, you will work on simulation technology that powers signal and power integrity analysis for some of the most complex chip and system designed today.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop circuit simulation software engines focused on high-speed channel modeling and analysis, including linear and nonlinear device characterization
  • Build and refine methodologies for equalization models, timing jitter analysis, and voltage noise characterization
  • Integrate simulation engines into signal and power integrity testbenching environments used by customers across the semiconductor industry
  • Work directly with customers to understand their signal and power integrity challenges and translate those needs into software features and improvements
  • Debug and optimize simulation accuracy and performance across s-parameters, crosstalk, and inter-symbol interference scenarios
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, field applications, and QA to align simulation capabilities with customer workflows
  • Write and maintain production-quality C/C++ code that ships as part of Synopsys EDA tools

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enable faster, more accurate high-speed channel design by improving the simulation engines customers depend on daily
  • Reduce time-to-market for semiconductor products by delivering methodologies that catch signal integrity issues earlier in the design cycle
  • Expand the reach of Synopsys signal and power integrity tools by making them more capable and easier to integrate into customer workflows
  • Strengthen customer trust and adoption by listening to real-world problems and building solutions that actually address them
  • Improve simulation performance and scalability so engineers can run larger, more complex analyses without waiting hours for results
  • Contribute to the technical foundation that supports next-generation AI, networking, and high-performance computing chip and system designs
  • Help shape the roadmap for circuit simulation technology at Synopsys by bringing deep domain expertise and customer insight to the team

What You'll Need

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the EDA software industry, specifically in circuit simulation or signal/power integrity domains
  • Deep knowledge of circuit simulation fundamentals, including solver algorithms, convergence behavior, and accuracy tradeoffs
  • Strong understanding of signal and power integrity concepts including s-parameters, inter-symbol interference, crosstalk, jitter, and voltage noise
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for developing production-grade simulation software
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both languages
  • Experience working directly with customers or field teams to gather requirements and translate them into software features is a strong plus

Who You Are

  • You can sit with a customer who is struggling with a crosstalk issue and walk away with a clear picture of what the simulator needs to do differently
  • You write code that other engineers will maintain, so you care about clarity, structure, and documentation even when no one is watching
  • When a simulation result does not match expectations, you do not stop at the surface. You dig into the model, the input data, and the engine behavior until you understand why
  • You are comfortable working across time zones and cultures, and you adjust your communication style depending on whether you are talking to a field engineer in Tokyo or a product manager in California
  • You balance technical depth with pragmatism. You know when to optimize for accuracy and when to ship something that is good enough to unblock a customer
  • You ask questions when requirements are vague, and you push back when a feature request does not align with how the software actually works

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join an R&D engineering team focused on circuit simulation and signal integrity solutions. The team works closely with product management, field applications engineers, and customers across the semiconductor industry to develop and refine simulation technology that addresses real-world design challenges. Your recruiter will share more about the team structure, current projects, and collaboration model during the interview process.

Rewards and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
