What You'll Be Doing:
• Design and develop innovative API solutions that integrate seamlessly with AI technologies, including exploring Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementations to enhance AI interactions with our optical design software
• Evaluate and propose multiple technical approaches for creating new APIs that will serve as the foundation for next-generation software capabilities
• Contribute to cross-platform development efforts, working with Linux and Windows environments to ensure compatibility across supported operating systems
What You'll Need:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (must be in their penultimate or final year of the degree program)
• Experience with designing and developing C++ libraries and APIs
• Experience with AI programming, particularly with agentic systems and understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar technologies
• Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework is highly desirable
• Linux and cross-platform development experience is a valuable asset
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize technical work and findings
• Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with distributed teams
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining regular communication with team members

• Program Length: 4 months
• Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
• Working Model: Remote eligible
• Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Start Date: September 2026
