We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have established yourself as an engineer capable of translating complex performance specifications into reliable transistor-level implementations. Your experience has given you proficiency with SPICE simulation and laboratory characterization, and you understand how to balance area, power, and cost considerations while maintaining design robustness for production environments. You recognize design risks early in the development cycle and apply appropriate mitigation strategies. First silicon bring-up represents a milestone you have successfully navigated multiple times. You provide technical mentorship because you understand that team success drives project success. You take ownership of validation planning, execution, and issue resolution rather than waiting for direction. Your effectiveness stems from your ability to collaborate productively with layout, digital, validation, and product teams throughout the design cycle. At Synopsys, you will have access to the resources, tools, and technical challenges that enable continued professional growth while contributing to products deployed in the field.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the design and development of advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits, blocks, and subsystems from specification through production
  • Develop architectural proposals and conduct tradeoff analyses for performance, power, area, and cost based on project requirements
  • Perform circuit simulation, verification, and optimization using industry-standard tools including SPICE and Spectre
  • Manage tape-out activities, silicon bring-up, debug processes, and laboratory characterization
  • Collaborate with layout engineering to ensure design intent is preserved through physical implementation with attention to manufacturability
  • Establish and execute comprehensive validation plans aligned with product requirements and quality standards
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and leadership across project teams

The Impact You Will Have

  • Deliver analog and mixed-signal designs that meet performance specifications and project schedules
  • Establish technical standards across projects through rigorous specification development, design reviews, and debug processes
  • Facilitate efficient transitions between design, layout, validation, and production phases
  • Resolve silicon issues systematically to ensure products meet customer requirements
  • Strengthen engineering capabilities through knowledge transfer, mentorship, and technical leadership

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree or PhD preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design
  • Demonstrated expertise in transistor-level circuit design and analysis
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools including SPICE and Spectre
  • Practical experience conducting silicon debug, characterization, and laboratory measurements
  • Knowledge of design methodologies addressing robustness, reliability, and testability requirements
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces, data converters, voltage regulators, power management circuits, or sensors is advantageous
  • Familiarity with deep submicron CMOS process technologies is beneficial

Who You Are

  • You identify potential design issues during early review stages and raise appropriate technical questions
  • You communicate complex technical tradeoffs effectively to executive leadership and provide detailed guidance to junior engineers
  • You engage directly with laboratory equipment and simulation tools when analysis is required
  • You facilitate cross-functional collaboration to maintain project momentum
  • You contribute to process and methodology improvements based on practical experience
