These engineers play a crucial role in advancing technology and enabling innovations in various industries.

Job Description

As an Applications Engineer (AE) you will partner with our customers and internal teams to design solutions for their ASIC/SoC designs using Synopsys IIP (Interface Intellectual Property) portfolio.
This is a pre-sales role, and it is perfect for someone who is looking to develop a mix of technical and interpersonal skills and, is committed to the success of our customers.

General responsibilities include:
  • Provide support to the AE teams to identify & understand our customers technical challenges
  • Provide customers all the necessary technical information about IIP products (e.g features, performance, power, area, and latency)
  • Develop appropriate solutions & collaterals for customers (sometimes cooperating with other Synopsys groups outside IIP organization)
  • Influencing the IP product development roadmap by communicating customer needs to the respective business units
Development opportunities:
  • Develop technical expertise in the semiconductor industry reference interface protocols: e.g. PCIe/CXL, DDR, MIPI, Ethernet, UCIe and AMBA
  • Exposure to many different applications and support to customer bleeding edge projects
  • Continuous learning opportunities and training
  • Contribute to internal processes improvements
Key qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experience on ASIC Front-End or Back-End development (college experience is also relevant)
  • Familiarity with Unix operating systems
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Team player profile
Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Understanding of latest SoC architectures and system-level design practices for one or more market segments (networking, AI, automotive) particularly from IP requirements perspective
  • Prior experience or technical familiarity on any of the above interface protocols
  • Prior experience or technical familiarity on microprocessor architectures
  • Prior experience in selecting, using, designing, or supporting internal or external IP
  • Prior experience in an application engineering or another direct customer facing role
