Hardware Release Engineering, Sr Engineer
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You bring experience in semiconductor development environments where you have learned that successful IP delivery depends on managing technical details and coordinating across distributed teams. You understand ASIC or SOC workflows well enough to know what a complete release requires and how to verify it before it reaches customers.
You are comfortable working independently in Linux environments, following established procedures while recognizing when issues require escalation or clarification. Debugging technical problems is part of your workflow, whether that involves QA failures, missing deliverables, or packaging inconsistencies. You ask the right questions to resolve blockers and keep projects moving forward.
Working with global engineering teams across time zones is something you handle effectively. You communicate clearly in written and verbal English, document your work thoroughly, and maintain visibility into multiple concurrent releases. At Synopsys, you will support the delivery of Mixed-Signal IP that enables customers to build semiconductor products on schedule.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate customer delivery of multiple Mixed-Signal IP projects by working with project teams to package and publish releases according to schedule
- Monitor release queue status and identify potential delays or blockers that require attention
- Debug QA issues in collaboration with engineering teams to determine root causes and implement appropriate resolutions
- Verify release integrity and completeness using standard tools in a Linux environment
- Communicate with global engineering teams to collect release artifacts and clarify technical requirements
The Impact You Will Have
- Your coordination ensures customers receive quality IP releases on schedule, enabling them to meet their own product development timelines
- The issues you identify and resolve reduce customer-reported defects and support faster integration
- Your tracking and reporting provide leadership with visibility into release status and resource requirements
- The process improvements you contribute to make subsequent releases more efficient and predictable
- Your attention to verification and documentation standards maintains the quality customers expect from Synopsys IP
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with SOC, ASIC, or semiconductor development environments
- Proficiency navigating and working with files and tools in a Linux environment
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher for technical documentation and global team communication
- Experience with scripting languages such as UNIX shell scripts, TCL, Perl, or Python is beneficial
Who You Are
- You review release checklists against delivered materials and identify discrepancies without requiring detailed guidance
- You investigate technical issues systematically to determine whether they represent critical blockers or can be addressed in normal workflow
- You manage multiple concurrent releases while maintaining clear priorities and meeting deadlines
- You communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise
The Team You'll Be Part Of
Your recruiter will share more about the team structure and mission during the interview process.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
