We Are:

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are:

You talk to the engineers who are stuck doing the same manual verification steps every week, you prototype something that cuts that time in half, and you iterate based on what works. Comfortable between Python scripting, API design, and conversations about physical design workflows, you translate between domains without losing the thread of what you are building or why it matters. At Synopsys, you will work on tools and automation that directly affect how semiconductor engineers across the company do their work every day.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and build software tools that automate repetitive engineering tasks and improve productivity across VLSI, EDA, and physical design workflows
  • Develop AI-assisted solutions and agent-based systems that integrate into existing development environments
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, LLMs, and automation frameworks, then prototype and deploy the ones that solve real problems for internal engineering teams
  • Partner with CAD, physical design, and verification engineers to understand workflow pain points and translate those into scalable software solutions
  • Build and maintain APIs, services, and workflow orchestration systems that connect tools, data sources, and automation layers
  • Create proof-of-concepts and production-quality applications that move from idea to deployment, then iterate based on actual usage

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Accelerate the adoption of AI-assisted technologies across semiconductor design and verification teams by delivering tools that demonstrate clear, measurable value
  • Shape the technical direction of next-generation internal platforms, influencing architecture decisions that will affect engineering productivity for years
  • Enable engineers to focus on hard design problems instead of repetitive tasks by reducing friction in their daily workflows
  • Bridge the gap between domain expertise in VLSI and EDA and cutting-edge AI technologies
  • Deliver solutions that scale across multiple projects, teams, and disciplines, creating leverage that compounds across the organization

WhatYou'll Need:

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience in automation, CAD, EDA, or related engineering domains
  • Strong programming skills with the ability to design and build scalable, maintainable software applications
  • Solid grounding in software architecture, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles
  • Hands-on experience with AI technologies such as Large Language Models, agent-based systems, or intelligent automation frameworks
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs, services, and workflow automation solutions
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments, version control systems like Git, and modern software development practices
  • Experience with semiconductor design, VLSI, physical design, or EDA workflows is a strong plus

Who You Are:

  • Self-motivated and resourceful, you identify gaps, prototype solutions, and iterate without needing direction at every step
  • Curious about emerging technologies but pragmatic about when to use them, you evaluate new AI frameworks based on whether they solve real problems
  • Comfortable working across disciplines, you translate between software engineers, CAD teams, and physical design experts without losing technical depth.
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous learning, you treat every deployment as a chance to gather feedback and build something better

The Team You'll Be Part Of:

You will join a highly collaborative R&D team responsible for developing automation and engineering productivity solutions. The team works closely with engineers across multiple domains to identify challenges, develop advanced software tools, and explore emerging technologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering workflows. You will play a key role in driving innovation, shaping technical direction, and delivering solutions with broad organizational impact.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
