You Are:

We're seeking a meticulous and proactive Release Manager experienced in complex software processes and CI/CD pipelines. With a computer science background, 2-6 years of project/release management experience, and adeptness in Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban, this role requires a leader with analytical skills and proficiency in relevant scripting languages.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing risks and resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, and schedules.
  • Overseeing the healthiness of Binary Compatible (BC) and secondary platforms (win64, linuxppc64, linuxaarch64).
  • Communicating crucial release plans and changes.
  • Coordinating processes between different teams across various locations.
  • Managing, planning, and negotiating release activities.
  • Conducting release readiness and milestone reviews.
  • Developing automation and release management tools along with scripts necessary for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Ensuring clarity of requirements across dependent project scrum teams for effective releases.
  • Validating release notes and ensuring they meet corporate quality metrics.
  • Planning and providing weekly updates on release activities.
  • Triage and analyze defects to identify gaps in test coverage and improvements in processes.
  • Estimating QA effort, preparing, and owning QA and release schedules.
  • Maintaining and continuously improving existing test development processes and practices.
  • Facilitating development/maintenance of quality control standards/metrics to identify improvement areas.
  • Reporting product health based on data gathered during release checkpoints.
  • Participating in efforts to standardize the QA tool set, including defect tracking and test case management.
  • Ensuring 100% test coverage across modules/platforms and reviewing existing test cases and plans.

What You’ll Need:

  • A computer science degree or a similar discipline.
  • 2-6 years of experience in using project or release management tools.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines.
  • Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Team management skills.
  • Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban.
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating systems.
  • Project management skills with knowledge of presentation.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Team and time management skills.
  • Experience in designing tools and automation frameworks.
  • Experience in using different tools related to test management.
  • Excellent IT knowledge for multiple platforms and relevant IT subjects (Linux, Windows, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of a major scripting/programming language on the product’s platform.
  • Strong knowledge of more than one additional scripting/programming language.
  • Excellent knowledge of test automation principles, tools, and patterns.
