You thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments and are motivated by working at the forefront of semiconductor innovation. Your expertise spans the full spectrum of analog and mixed-signal design, and you’re adept at translating SerDes standards into robust, high-performance IP blocks. You are comfortable working across disciplines, bridging the gap between analog, digital, and layout teams, and you bring a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
You are detail-oriented, methodical in your approach, and always eager to share your knowledge and mentor others. You value teamwork, diversity, and open communication, recognizing that a variety of perspectives leads to better solutions. You are committed to delivering quality, reliable silicon, and you possess the adaptability required to respond to evolving technology and customer needs. Your technical leadership and hands-on expertise make you a trusted resource for your peers and a driving force behind successful product development at Synopsys.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Reviewing SerDes standards to define and develop analog sub-block specifications for Multi-Gbps NRZ & PAM4 SERDES IP.
- Identifying, evaluating, and refining circuit architectures to optimize for power, area, and performance.
- Proposing and implementing design and verification strategies using advanced simulation tools to ensure robust and high-quality designs.
- Overseeing physical layout efforts, focusing on minimizing parasitics, device stress, and process variation for high-speed circuits.
- Presenting simulation results and design data for peer and customer reviews, facilitating collaborative problem-solving and design validation.
- Documenting design features, test plans, and technical justifications to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Consulting on electrical characterization and proposing solutions for post-silicon design updates within SerDes IP products.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Enable the development of next-generation high-speed connectivity solutions used in advanced computing, networking, and AI applications.
- Drive innovation in analog and mixed-signal design, contributing directly to Synopsys’ leadership in silicon IP for FinFET process nodes.
- Improve product quality and reliability through meticulous design, verification, and documentation practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet demanding customer requirements.
- Advance the scalability and performance of SerDes IP, enhancing Synopsys’ reputation as a trusted technology partner.
- Shape the future of semiconductor technology by contributing to industry standards and best practices.
What You’ll Need:
- BE + 5 years / MTech + 4 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Deep expertise in transistor-level circuit design and sound CMOS design fundamentals.
- Hands-on design experience with at least two SerDes sub-circuits (e.g., equalizers, samplers, drivers, serializers, deserializers, PLLs, DLLs, bandgap reference, ADC/DAC).
- Familiarity with ESD design techniques, custom digital design for high-speed logic paths, and reliability-focused design (EM, IR, aging).
- Proficiency in schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification tools; experience with SPICE simulators and Verilog-A modeling.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, C, Python, or MATLAB is highly desirable.
Who You Are:
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative team player who values diversity, inclusion, and sharing knowledge.
- Adaptable and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Committed to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
