We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have built your career at the boundary where silicon meets software, and you know that the most interesting problems live in production, not just in the lab. Managing engineers excites you because you get to multiply impact, turning sharp technical instincts into working code that runs on millions of chips in cars, data centers, and phones. You think in two layers at once: the embedded firmware collecting voltage and thermal data at microsecond intervals, and the cloud pipeline turning that telemetry into predictions that keep fleets healthy.

Working inside customer environments does not intimidate you. You have sat in automotive engineering reviews where functional safety is non-negotiable, debugged performance bottlenecks in hyperscale infrastructure, and optimized power profiles on mobile SoCs that cannot afford an extra milliwatt. You translate between worlds: explaining why a telemetry sensor matters to a product VP, then turning around to help your team architect the data pipeline that proves it.

You lead by clearing obstacles and asking better questions. Your team knows you will push back when requirements are vague, protect their time when priorities shift, and make sure what they build actually ships and gets used.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and grow a distributed R&D team of software engineers building embedded telemetry firmware and cloud analytics platforms for Silicon Lifecycle Management across Automotive, Hyperscale, and Mobile verticals
  • Architect dual-domain solutions that combine low-latency on-chip sensor integration with scalable cloud pipelines using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to monitor chip health in real time
  • Lead co-development engagements directly inside strategic customer sites, translating their production constraints into working prototypes that meet Automotive ISO 26262 safety standards, Hyperscale performance SLAs, or Mobile thermal limits
  • Build feedback loops that pull live telemetry insights from deployed hardware back into core Synopsys R&D codebases, ensuring field learnings improve the next product generation
  • Drive experimental software releases through validation, testing, and deployment in live customer environments where uptime and reliability are measured in fleet-wide metrics
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including silicon design, verification, product management, and customer engineering to align technical roadmaps with real-world deployment needs
  • Own hiring, mentorship, and technical growth for your team, balancing deep individual contributor work with the leverage that comes from building capability in others

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enable automotive OEMs to meet functional safety requirements by delivering telemetry software that detects aging and voltage anomalies before they become safety-critical failures
  • Reduce unplanned downtime in hyperscale data centers by deploying predictive analytics that flag thermal or performance degradation across thousands of deployed chips
  • Extend battery life and improve user experience in mobile devices by optimizing power and thermal profiles using real-time on-chip telemetry and cloud-based fleet analysis
  • Accelerate Synopsys product development cycles by feeding production telemetry data and customer insights directly back to core R&D teams, shortening the gap between design intent and deployed reality
  • Build reusable software frameworks and analytics pipelines that scale across verticals, turning one-off customer solutions into platform capabilities used across the SLM portfolio
  • Strengthen customer relationships by delivering working prototypes and co-developed solutions that prove the value of Silicon Lifecycle Management in their specific production environments
  • Shape the technical direction of an emerging product category where chips are monitored, optimized, and managed throughout their operational life, not just at design time

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with deep expertise in both embedded systems and cloud-scale architectures
  • 3+ years managing R&D or advanced engineering teams, with a track record of hiring, mentoring, and delivering complex technical projects through others
  • Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for performance-critical embedded software and Python for automation, scripting, and cloud analytics workflows
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying cloud analytics pipelines on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ideally processing telemetry or time-series data at scale
  • Technical fluency across at least one of Automotive (ISO 26262, ASIL), Hyperscale infrastructure, or Mobile SoC power and thermal optimization
  • Experience working directly with customers in co-development or field engineering roles where you translated their production constraints into shipped software

Who You Are

  • You can walk into a customer meeting with incomplete requirements, ask the right technical questions, and leave with a clear architecture that your team can start building the next day
  • Managing people energizes you because you care about the leverage, you would rather unblock five engineers than write the code yourself, even when writing it yourself would be faster
  • You push back when a roadmap does not make sense or a customer request conflicts with what the silicon can actually deliver, and you do it in a way that builds trust instead of burning it
  • Ambiguity does not slow you down, you have shipped software in environments where the spec changed mid-project, the hardware was not final, and the customer needed it yesterday
  • You can explain a complex telemetry tradeoff to an executive in two sentences without losing the technical nuance, then turn around and review a pull request on embedded sensor drivers
  • You treat production deployments seriously, you know that code running on a million devices in the field has different stakes than code running in a lab, and you build accordingly
