You Are

You have spent years building platforms that other engineers depend on, and you understand that the best infrastructure is the kind people forget exists because it just works. When someone mentions a bottleneck, you are already three steps ahead, sketching out how distributed architecture could solve it and what tradeoffs come with that choice.

You have written enough Go to know when it is the right tool and when it is not. You have debugged Kubernetes clusters and walked away with a mental model of how orchestration actually behaves under load, not just in tutorials. You have built IDE plugins or extensions because you know that developer experience is not a nice-to-have, it is the difference between adoption and abandonment.

AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot are not buzzwords to you. You use them, you understand their limits, and you have opinions on where they add value versus where they create noise. You do not wait for perfect requirements. You sit with product teams, ask the right questions, and build something that solves the actual problem, not the one in the spec doc.

At Synopsys, you will work on platform engineering challenges that directly shape how thousands of engineers build EDA products. The problems are real, the scale is global, and what you build will matter.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and develop scalable, modular platform solutions that promote reuse and are easily integrated into our diverse product suite
• Develop and extend IDE integrations, including building extensions and plugins to enhance developer productivity across modern software development environments like VS Code and JetBrains
• Drive the strategy for containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and incorporate user feedback into the platform's development
• Incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities into the platform to facilitate smarter workflows and predictive analytics
• Establish best practices for modern software architecture, including microservices, serverless computing, and API-first strategies
• Ensure the platform's infrastructure is robust, secure, and compliant with industry standards

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development
• Strong development experience in Go (highly preferred), Python and/or Java
• Deep understanding of distributed computing, CAP Theorem, and system design tradeoffs
• Proven expertise in cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background working with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with modern software delivery ecosystem (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Harness.io, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Experience developing IDE extensions and plugins (e.g., VS Code, JetBrains) is a major asset
• Recent hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot is highly preferred
• Experience with AI/machine learning frameworks and tools is highly desirable
• Linux Foundation certifications: CKAD, CKS, and/or CKA (highly preferred)

• You stay current with modern software practices because you care about building systems that will still make sense two years from now, not because it is trendy
