We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
At Synopsys, you will shape how simulation tools are validated across product lines that matter to industries building the next generation of physical products.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and drive verification and validation strategy across ANSYS simulation products including LS-DYNA, AUTODYN, and the Mechanical suite
- Design complex analytical benchmarks, validation frameworks, and test scenarios that stress computational mechanics solvers in realistic and edge-case conditions
- Lead root cause investigations of critical defects and performance issues, working directly with development teams to resolve them
- Identify gaps in product capabilities and translate those insights into roadmap influence, enabling new applications and market opportunities
- Engage directly with customers to solve their toughest simulation challenges and act as a trusted technical authority
- Develop reusable training materials, validation methodologies, and contribute to AI-driven knowledge systems that scale expertise across the organization
- Mentor verification engineers and drive alignment across R&D, product, and support teams on validation standards and best practices
The Impact You Will Have
- Establish validation practices that become the standard across multiple product lines, raising the bar for accuracy and reliability
- Catch critical issues before they reach customers, protecting product reputation and reducing costly escalations
- Enable new markets and use cases by proving out simulation capabilities in domains that were previously unvalidated or underserved
- Shape product roadmaps with technical insight that comes from deep domain expertise and real customer engagement
- Build scalable knowledge assets that allow the next generation of engineers to solve problems faster and with more confidence
- Strengthen customer trust by being the engineer they call when their most complex simulations are not behaving as expected
- Influence how verification is done across the organization, setting the technical bar for what validated software means at Synopsys
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, Master's with 10+ years, or PhD with 6+ years in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Deep expertise in computational mechanics, finite element analysis, and numerical methods for structural or explicit dynamics
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages used for automation, scripting, and solver interaction
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex validation frameworks and benchmarks for physics-based simulation software
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of diagnosing and resolving difficult technical issues in large-scale software systems
- Expert-level experience with ANSYS products such as LS-DYNA, AUTODYN, or Mechanical is a strong plus
- Experience with HPC environments and cloud platforms for large-scale simulation workloads is a plus
Who You Are
- You can take a failed simulation and work backward through the physics, the solver, and the setup until you find the root cause, not just the symptom
- You simplify complexity naturally, breaking down a multi-physics problem into testable pieces without losing sight of how they interact
- You communicate clearly across audiences, explaining a solver tradeoff to a developer in one conversation and walking a customer through a benchmark result in the next
- You have a point of view on what good validation looks like and you are not afraid to push back when a test plan is too shallow or a release is moving too fast
- You stay organized across multiple workstreams, keeping validation efforts on track even when priorities shift or new issues surface
- You build relationships easily, establishing trust with development teams, support engineers, and customers because you show up with answers and follow through
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
At Synopsys, we want talented people of every background to feel valued and supported to do their best work. Synopsys considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, military veteran status, or disability.
