What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create new simulation methodologies, troubleshoot problem set-ups, run simulation benchmarks, and update industry best practices pertaining to modeling and simulation of engineered products & processes
- Update Ansys training course materials to reflect the latest innovations and best practices
- Develop technical marketing content to showcase advanced simulation capabilities
- Perform literature searches to identify relevant publications using Ansys or competitive products, as well as experimental data
- Write detailed technical reports and present findings to Ansys teams
- Network within the Ansys Customer Excellence team to learn about various roles such as presales support, post-sales technical support, and consulting services
- Support testing efforts to evaluate new features for commercial readiness
- Participate in customer interactions for technical discussions and requirements gathering
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or another technical discipline
- Currently enrolled as an engineering graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) in an accredited United States university; Ph.D. students should be entering their third year or beyond
- Ability to work at the advertised location without requiring relocation assistance by Ansys
- Motivated to learn, with strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing, understanding, and presenting in fluent English
- Solid knowledge, research, or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Structural behavior of soft/hyperelastic/viscoelastic materials (e.g., elastomer seals, vibration isolation systems, biological materials)
- Coupled field technology of multifunctional materials or strong multiphysics processes (e.g., piezoelectric, dielectric, magneto-structural, thermal diffusion, sensors, energy harvesting/storage)
- Biomechanics and biomaterials (e.g., modeling biomedical systems, human body parts, bioimaging, cellular mechanics
- Multiscale modeling of materials and structures (e.g., computational homogenization, metamaterials, acoustic waveguides
- Application of AI/ML to any of the above topics or general solid mechanics
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of computer languages: Python, Java, C/C++, FORTRAN
- Experience with CAD packages such as SolidWorks, NX, Catia
- Familiarity with Linux OS and general IT hardware/systems
- Experience with simulation tools: Ansys Mechanical, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Nastran, or open-source finite element software
- Experience with preprocessing tools for simulations (e.g., Ansys products, Ansa, Hypermesh)
