You are a seasoned cybersecurity professional with a passion for safeguarding critical assets in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. You thrive on solving complex security challenges, proactively identifying threats, and developing effective solutions to stay ahead of emerging risks. Your experience combines hands-on technical expertise with technical leadership, enabling you to guide teams and mentor colleagues on security best practices.

You bring a strong understanding of security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and enterprise security infrastructure. You have working knowledge of compliance frameworks including CMMC, RMF, DISA STIGs, and DoDAF. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex security issues into clear risks and actionable recommendations.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Configure, maintain, and optimize advanced security technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls, IPS, SIEM (QRadar), endpoint protection, and DLP platforms.
  • Lead the development and implementation of security controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and security policies to support a strong security posture and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform incident response, malware analysis, threat investigations, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Administer and optimize security tools such as Trellix ePO to ensure effective protection and operational readiness.
  • Manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, including configuration, administration, policy development, and tuning.
  • Conduct penetration testing activities, document findings, and present actionable recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for security tools, processes, and infrastructure, providing guidance and training across the organization.
  • Lead security modernization initiatives, including migrations from Trellix to CrowdStrike and QRadar to Elastic.

What You'll Need


  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, Cybersecurity Operations, or Security Engineering, including experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
  • Proficiency in at least 2 scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, with SELinux experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies such as QRadar, Palo Alto Firewalls, Trellix ePO, CrowdStrike, Elastic, IPS, and DLP solutions.
  • Current DoD IAT Level II certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • Familiarity with CMMC Level 2 controls, RMF, DISA STIGs, and broader DoD security requirements.
  • Strong understanding of threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity operations.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create and review detailed technical documentation and SOPs.

The Team You'll Be A Part Of


You will join a highly specialized and collaborative Information Security team dedicated to protecting Synopsys' mission-critical systems and data. The team focuses on proactive threat detection, incident response, security engineering, and the implementation of advanced security controls to support CMMC Level 2 and other regulatory requirements.

You will work alongside cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance professionals who are committed to technical excellence, continuous improvement, and protecting the technologies that power our customers' innovations.

In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
