What You’ll Be Doing:
- Overseeing the engineering environment and identifying potential issues.
- Debugging OS and engineering issues within our provided Unix environment.
- Managing and deploying virtual machines on various environments, including physical resources like BareMetal.
- Working on internal projects across different time zones and teams.
- Following up with customers and handing over tasks/issues to team members to utilize time zones effectively.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure high reliability and performance of our systems.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Ensuring the reliability and performance of our Unix environment, critical for various engineering operations.
- Streamlining the deployment and management of virtual machines, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Improving system reliability by identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Facilitating seamless project execution across global teams and time zones.
- Enhancing customer satisfaction through timely follow-ups and effective issue resolution.
- Contributing to the overall success of Synopsys by maintaining a high-performance engineering environment.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong Linux administration skills with hands-on experience in various distributions (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, SuSE).
- Proven ability to debug and resolve Linux issues in complex environments.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Openstack).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman) is beneficial.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell, Ansible).
- Familiarity with Jenkins and Git.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
