You Are

You have spent years working inside the ASIC design flow, and you understand that the hardest part is not just getting the IP to work in simulation, it is making sure it integrates cleanly into a customer's SoC without creating problems three months into tape-out. You know the difference between a design review that catches a real issue and one that simply checks a box.


You are comfortable stepping into a customer engagement where the RTL behavior is unexpected, diagnosing the root cause, and guiding them to resolution with clarity and confidence. You do not need perfect information to be effective. You work with what you have, escalate appropriately, and keep projects moving forward. At Synopsys, you will support customers building some of the most advanced mobile and AI SoCs in the world.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical support to field engineers and customers integrating Synopsys MIPI IP, specifically Camera and Display solutions, into their SoC designs
  • Partner with customers through the full ASIC design cycle, from IP installation and training through RTL integration, verification, synthesis, timing closure, and production testing
  • Conduct technical design reviews at major customer milestones to identify integration issues early and ensure successful tape-out
  • Debug customer issues across the design flow using Verilog HDL, simulation tools, synthesis, and static timing analysis
  • Author application notes and white papers that help customers solve specific integration challenges or highlight best practices for using Synopsys MIPI IP
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback to internal R&D, product management, and IP development teams to drive product improvements and roadmap priorities
  • Collaborate with the global applications engineering team to share knowledge, build reusable solutions, and improve support processes

  • Build long-term customer relationships that lead to broader adoption of Synopsys IP across multiple product lines
  • Create documentation and collateral that scales your expertise across the field team and customer base
  • Help grow Synopsys market share in the MIPI IP space by making customers successful and confident in their designs
  • Contribute to a support model that makes complex IP accessible and well-supported


What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years or Master's degree with 2+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC design
  • Working knowledge of Verilog HDL, RTL design, synthesis, static timing analysis, simulation, and verification
  • Experience supporting or working directly with customers or cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Comfort using AI tools to enhance productivity, whether for code analysis, documentation, debugging assistance, or workflow optimization is a plus
  • Experience with place and route, design reuse, physical design, or analog design is a plus
  • Familiarity with MIPI protocols, high-speed SERDES, or parallel interface standards is a plus
  • Ability to debug complex issues across multiple stages of the ASIC design flow

  • You know when to say "let me investigate and get back to you" and you follow through with the right internal experts to close the loop
  • You can explain a timing constraint violation or integration trade-off to a customer design engineer in a way that preserves technical accuracy while remaining accessible
  • You manage multiple concurrent customer engagements effectively, each at different stages of the design cycle, without losing track of commitments
  • You are genuinely curious about how customers use the IP in production environments, not just whether it passes verification
  • You adapt your communication approach depending on your audience, whether you are working with a field applications engineer, a customer architect, or an internal product team


The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will be joining the MIPI IP Applications Engineering team in Porto, supporting high-end customers in the mobile industry processor interface space. This is a global team responsible for ensuring customers successfully integrate Synopsys Camera and Display IP solutions into their SoCs.
